Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 22
Posted by CapnRex101,Palpatine has received a throne from which to watch the Battle of Endor, but he might need some Imperial reinforcements to guarantee victory over the Rebel Alliance.
Let's see whether reinforcements arrive...
When the new 2x4 wedge plates were introduced in 2020, I thought immediately of their utility for Advent Calendars models and microscale Star Destroyers in particular. Today brings an Imperial Star Destroyer, which puts the wedge plates to superb use and cleverly integrates a 1x2 plate for the command tower, complete with studs forming the shield projectors. 75356 Executor Super Star Destroyer contains a pair of similar Star Destroyers, but this one features some extra dark bluish grey pieces.
Overall - Star Destroyers have appeared in Advent Calendars a couple of times before, but this is definitely the best version to date.

One can never have enough Star Destroyers!
Years of torment in designing miniature ISDs led to this moment. Perfection!
This might work as a roughly minifig-scale model of the UCS ISD model from a few years ago. It's not perfectly scaled, but all minifig accessories are 'too big' anyway
yay... BS is back.
EDIT: BTW, all of ypu who posted derogatory replies to my comments... don't assume my silence implied acquiescence. ;)
I like the addition of a secondary color to very single colored ships. It ads just a little bit of visual interest, although this may be a bit too much, but at the same time, too little would look inproper, too. Eh, we'll just say it's painted with some Grand Admiral's own personal flare, not too unlike the Chimera for Thrawn. Or maybe this is even after the fall of the Empire and a warlord is giving it their own personal touch.
Hey, BrickSet is back up! Assuming it was crashed by all the ‘where are my god-given waistcapes?!’ people…?
Also, what a cool Star Destroyer! Agree that new 2x4 plate helps this build a lot. But sadly no waistcape. Lego hates us. Even at Christmas :(

It's kama karma Kramer!
Now all I need to find is an extra part 99784 and I can add it to the Executor's escort!
I like the dark gray. Since brick-built detail is very hard at this scale, varying the colors this way provides visual depth to the model.

"Well, this is the worst table so far."
It is a little weird to have a cupholder sitting so low between your seat and the table, but on the other hand, there’s barely room for any food on the table.
It is always interesting to see many of the ships in the Star Wars universe portrayed as being gray. I recall having plastic model kits as a kid and the instructions had the star destroyer coloured white, Same goes for the Millennium Falcon. That said, both ships look gray onscreen so the gray colouring isn't totally out of place. :)
Yep. As Experten. Size and scale are limited, thus:
5. HP - it IS a little bit dull
4. SW
3. Friends- as expected
2. City - nothing unusual, but good!
1. Wong - carries this ac by himself

Yes, even the Emperor agrees. He had 25,000 built for his navy!
I didn’t get this one, I got a second bunker.
Did anyone else get two of these? I didn't notice until the last day, when I went to fold away the box and noticed a second bag. Shame it wasn't an extra minifig instead, but still better than a poke in the eye with a blunt stick, as they say!
