Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 24
Posted by CapnRex101,Yesterday brought us an Ewok glider and unless Emperor Palpatine or Princess Leia are going to pilot the vehicle, we know what to expect today.
Let's have a look at today's item and a summary of this Advent Calendar...
I am surprised an Ewok has never been chosen for a seasonal minifigure before, given their adorable appearance! This minifigure looks fantastic, sporting a green hood with an attractive Christmas tree and falling snow on the front, which pairs nicely with the Ewok's white fur. Many different Ewoks have been produced before, but none of those are pure white.
The combined torso and head component is nicely textured and the highlights for the lips and nose look perfect, as always. However, the light bluish grey hands look slightly odd, since this Ewok is otherwise completely white. Nevertheless, this is an excellent seasonal minifigure and ending to the Star Wars Advent Calendar.
Of course, the Ewok can pilot yesterday's glider, holding the handlebars behind its back, as shown below. Part of me wishes a couple of wrapped presents had been provided today, as though the Ewok is gliding around the Forest Moon of Endor to distribute them, but the Ewok alone is lovely.
Overall - I always look forward to the festive Star Wars minifigures and this Ewok is a charming addition to the group, especially given the stark contrast with Palpatine!
Summary
My requirements for an impressive Star Wars Advent Calendar are simple. Firstly, the standard of models should be high, ideally recreating new subjects at this scale, or greatly improving on past models. Seasonal minifigures are essential as well, while any other minifigures should be suitable for army building or previously unique to larger and more expensive sets. 75366 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar satisfies all these needs!
Both today's Ewok and Palpatine are wonderful, while the addition of a seasonal Pit Droid and Gonk Droid are bonuses. The other minifigures are quite appealing too, while some of the mini vehicles seen this year have been tremendous. My favourites include the Hailfire Droid and the N-1 Starfighter, although almost all are good, so this is a definite candidate for the best LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar to date.
How do you think this Star Wars Advent Calendar compares with its predecessors and which days have been your favourites? Let us know in the comments.

I think this is the first year I can think of where Lego and Hasbro did the exact same holiday figure at the same time. https://hasbropulse.com/products/star-wars-the-black-series-ewok-holiday-edition-figure
He’s gliding to give coal to all the Imperials this holiday season!
Okay! Time for the annual inventory of EVERYTHING WE'VE GOTTEN IN STAR WARS ADVENT CALENDARS SINCE 2011, now updated for 2023.
First up are the minifigures. Caveat here that "minifigure" here, for the pedants, includes minifigure-scale compatible builds (astromechs, battle droids, brick-build droids, etc.).

There's no clear winner here as a number of ships have reappeared a lot (the Millennium Falcon, the Star Destroyers, the AAT).
Last up are microscale environments:
Atch-To Island: 2019
Bespin Cloud City: 2018
Death Star Turret: 2019
Endor Ewok Village: 2015, 2023
Endor Imperial Bunker: 2023

Tatooine Jabba’s Palace: 2016
Tatooine Lars Homestead: 2019
Tatooine Pit of Carkoon: 2015
Micro-environments aren't that common, so we don't have a lot of repetition. The Hoth cannon and the Endor village are the only repeat models since 2015.
Bonus content, here's a rough approximation of weapons racks and other odd builds. Some of them really, really are not meaningfully identifiable (it's a, uh, thing that holds a lightsaber) while others have a function, however weird (Tatooine shooting range).
Catapult: 2013 (Gungan), 2015 (Ewok)
Hoth cave: 2023
Hoth Troop Transport and Hockey Equipment Carrier: 2016
Imperial shooting range: 2021, 2022

Tusken Stud Shooter: 2021
Weapons/Tool/Lightsaber Racks: 2012 (x2), 2013, 2014 (x2), 2015 (x2), 2017, 2021
I like it. We got a generous amount of figs, and te miniatures were the greatest to date!
Yub Nub! Happy Life Day! Merry Christmas!
A stronger calendar than the previous years, but I think I would have preferred if all the models were based on Return of the Jedi, and not this weird mix of models.
I really liked this calendar, a lot of really strong days, and days that were weaker on their (battle droid or Endor bunker) benefitted from having others to go along with (bunker + dish is a more interesting display).
Very strong on the festive figures too and we had some firsts like the Hailfire.
It's hard to pick a favourite among these, but the STAP stands out to me. Getting a build for minifigures that does not need to be scaled down is so nice, and it actually made me like getting another battle droid!
Seems like a solid calendar in its own right, and is positively stellar when you compare it to the Marvel one

Note to Lego: if you're including a B-1, PLEASE include a STAP. Just duplicate the model from 2023. We'll still be happy with it in 10 years.
I like this advent calendar but in my opinion 2011-2014 will always be the best ones. The Santa figures were awesome.
This year and last both have had significantly stronger-than-average LSWACs. I’m quite happy with them. I’ve gotten all of them except the 2013 one (just missed out on it, alas; I wish I hadn’t), and the last two years are both candidates for the best, after the 2021 one decidedly wasn’t. I still enjoyed that one, but I’m glad things have improved since two years ago.
Though SW is my main theme, I love LEGO in general, and in years past I’ve sometimes also gotten the City and/or Friends ACs. I kind of wish I’d gotten those more regularly as well, and I *really* wish I’d gotten the succession of pre-SW, non-City ACs they did from 2007 to 2010 - Belville (!), Castle, Pirates, Kingdoms. Those looked fun.
I like Marvel, but speaking as someone who hasn’t gotten any of the Marvel ACs but does follow their reveals here, it does seem to me that that theme has consistently weak ACs, even with some lovely seasonal minifigures. Adding annoyance to this vexation, it appears the Wizarding World typically gets really good ACs, but that’s a theme I’d just as soon see LEGO drop altogether, if for no other reason than to not further enrich a transphobe who uses her platform and resources to espouse harmful views.
Finally, even as someone pulled back from his dark ages by LSW, I’d really like to see LEGO do more original, non-licensed ACs. Perhaps one year they could do one that’s a general blend of classic original LEGO play themes - Classic Castle, Classic Space, Adventurers, Pirates, etc. It could finish with a seasonal NinjaGo character or something.
Super cute notwithstanding that these guys would cook you alive and eat you!
Happy Christmas to everyone reading this. I hope all your presents have that distinct LEGO rattle tomorrow!
Tomorrow can be a trying day as well for some people so I wish those the best of luck for 2024.
Nice to finally get another Ewok! I only have the ones from 7139.
@PixelTheDragon: That is a hilarious mental image. And if you consider how coal is formed, Endor probably has a lot of it, so he won't be running out anytime soon.
"Yub, yub, Cap'n."
A really nice minifigure but I was a little disappointed that there weren't any accessories. Woul;d have been happier, overall, if the Emperor and this Ewok had swapped places in the calendar.
Overall, though, a nice calendar: good figures, builds and no filler. You can even add a red nose to the Gonk reindeer, due to the gratuitous red 1x1 in the Justifier model (I bet that was a deliberate design choice).
Nice AC with festive figs, good figs, well-designed builds with cool pieces, and a great festive finish.
My favorite two sets were the STAP and gonk. My favorite fig is the Ewok.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays!!
All around a great calendar. The debut of festive Palps and the Ewok were nice. Army builders like the clone are always appreciated and I know for many this version of Leia is uncommon. Having Omega and a sled build in one day is a stark contrast to the road Marvel took this year. Although the models might be a bit more obscure, they were well designed and interesting. Even the weakest days such as the bunker entrance were not too bad. I am also pleased with the continued absence of weapons racks (for now)
I was instantly attracted to the SWAC when they kicked things off with the Santa Yoda from Lucasfilm's 1981 Christmas card, but the recent trend of just putting characters in Christmas sweaters (especially characters who've already received Christmas variants) wasn't really knocking my socks off. This is still technically just a Christmas sweater, but the similarity to the 2016 Snowbacca makes up for it. And it makes the Ewok look like an Elf.
While we're tallying things up and checking in on the completed AC, I've just freed all the models from their bags, and I was amused by all the spares. By my count:
4x 1x1 plate
6x 1x1 round plate
3x 1x1 round plate with hole
6x 1x1 tile
2x 1x1 round tile (1 is a cookie and potentially not "spare" so much as "extra")
3x 1x1 round tile with vertical shaft
6x 1x1 round plate with horizontal shadt
2x 1x1 half-round tile
6x cheese slope
1x 1x1 double-sided roof tile
2x lightsaber handle
1x small blaster
1x battle droid arm, straight
1x battle droid arm, bent
1x spear tip with fins
1x unicorn horn
1x Exo-Force robot claw
1x tap
1x T-piece
1x bucket handle
Naturally I've given the extra gun to Shadow the Hedgehog.
the hailfire droid might be the best mini model in the history of SW calendars. Not as many figures this year as I'd like but getting Omega without having to buy the unjustifier is amazing
Hopefully Lego will sort out these awful dividers in the calendars which simply didn't work.
Think all of the card has been a lot cheaper and poorer quality this year.
A cheap(er) way to get omega and a filler clone for my at-te are my personal highlights. First sw ac . All figures are nice + lovely throne, stap, n1, speeder bike and hailfire droid!
I really enjoyed this calendar; good figs, interesting and varied micro builds and the best part: NO WEAPON RACKS!!
A game changer for the micro builds has been the newish modified plate 78257 with bar handles on ends which has opened up what's possible at this small scale.
Final Day:
5. Marcel- a Christmas tree that competes with three Otter trees. It' s finde, but I believe City had the best one. Love the Inklusion of the tessaract, tough
4. HP - A Standard yet likable snowman
3. City - The most santaish Santa is a must, but won' surprise anyone. Maybe Lego can do better with thematical ac in the future with a Santa that fits the idea, like Beach Santa or Coast Guard Santa and the like.
2. Friends - Pickle the Dog is a gratis reference to the bogus Christmas tradition and of course an interesting animal figure
1. SW - I believe there was a white Ewok either in ROTJ or in the cartoon series. I dedicate this one to Allan Xie of Generation Tech, who would love to turn the Ewok into a fantastic Christmas Roast.
To all of you happy holidays and a happy new year!

I was looking forward for your comment! Thank you and happy holidays you all, see you next year!
Happy Life Day… er I mean Christmas to all those out there! Or both!
And it was a fab advent calendar this year - the micro builds generally have been next level
This was an excellent calendar. I wanted an extra challenge to spice things up so I built every model inside the bag. Fun!
The 2020 Calendar will always be my favourite (Sith Trooper, Santa D-0, Sweater Poe and Vader with the A-Wing, Millennium Falcon and Vader’s Castle), but this is a great one as well. One of Star Wars’ strongest.
This Star Wars advent calendar clearly won out over the HP & Marvel ones. That said, I like the themes of Endor moon and the Prizoner of Azkaban. Here's hoping this continues for 2024 and that they replace Marvel with Classic Space! Happy Christmas to everyone and a safe and peaceful 2024!
Would have liked to have gotten something from Jabbas Palace/Sail Barge, given that it was the 40th anniversary of ROJ and we didn't get any sets this year from that part of the movie.

See 2015/2016.
I was most excited to get Omega, as I was on the fence with the Justifier. Most of this calendar was good, with some cool minibuilds & great minifigs.
I do think HP wins out though, based on the minifig selection & despite getting yet another bench....
