Random minifig of the day: min001

Posted by ,

Today's random minifigure is min001 Micromob Creeper, a Minecraft figure that came in one set, 21102 Minecraft Micro World - The Forest, released during 2012.

Our members collectively own a total of 7,876 of them. If you'd like to buy one you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $2.10.

Just a bit. Possibly just the order they were entered into bricklink by whoever did the inventory for the set. Or maybe it was done alphabetically.

Did you perhaps purposely mispell Minecraft as a reference to the rare chance title change which switches the E and the C?

Everyone knows the Creeper, but here goes anyway!

Back during the game's early development they accidentally flipped the Pig's torso and made it super tall instead of long. People liked the look of this, so they reworked the shape into a leaf/grass monster with a screaming face called a Creeper.

Creepers are borderline silent. They'll slowly sneak up on you, then make a sharp hiss and explode. This explosion can kill an unarmored player with ease, and will destroy whatever cool thing you just finished building!

Creepers can be killed for Gunpowder to make TNT. If struck by lightning they'll become even more powerful Charged Creepers. Some of the monsters killed by Charged Creepers will drop their heads.

Just last week I set up a farm to use Charged Creepers to get Piglin Heads, one of the rarest heads in the game!

Ah, this is where it all began. The first Lego Minecraft set! And this is one of its first microfigures. To think it would be made into a minifigure theme three years later that would end up running longer than at least... 9 years.

Ehm... are any of today's themes (besides maybe Animal Crossing and Dreamzzz) ever going to retire or what?

Why not?"

It's 3 regular bricks slapped together, not one Minifigure or specialized part in sight. Unless you cont the printed brick. But in that case, why don't all the Minecraft animals/creatures/... count as Minifigures? Why don't all the animals, dinosaurs etc. with special moulds count as Minifigures?

But it consists of a Minifigure HEAD and SPECIALIZED parts.

I know. I'm just holding up the tradition of complaining.

They may be the oldest child, but their younger siblings MIN012, 21155, 21156, 41612 tower over them. Minus the youngest, found in 21265.

New rule: The definition of a minifigure depends on the context of the set or theme. For example, in Star Wars, a minifigure is any depiction of a somewhat-sentient character, such as a human, alien, or droid. Non-sentient characters, such as the Rancor or TaunTauns are not included. Because this set only depicts its characters as micro-mobs, any of these are considered "minifigures" in the context of the set.

That’s the Bricklink definition, sure, but the official TLG definition (for legal trademark purposes), includes any two of the standard heard, standard torso, and standard roll legs. So TLG would refer to this as a character, not a minifig.

By in Canada,

Even in SW, I don't think a Gonk or Mouse or Destroyer droid is a minifigure. The definition definitely can't be as simple as "uses specialised minifigure part(s)," though, because then you'd be including things even less minifigure-y than Pharrell's wall of heads, like lamps.

So that big old wall of heads in 10391 - by your metric, is that just one "minifig" with 49 heads, or does that set contain a whopping 51 minifigs? Are we counting the telescope-pieces with the minifig-helmets on top as minifigs as well? I would ask the Huwbot, but he's of a mind to blow up my house today."

If that makes you happy, sure. ¯\_(._.)_/¯
I guess it's my bad for not specifying it enough like "consists ... and is meant to regarded as one" or something similar.

30448 , the 75176 spaceship, and the 60268 pineapple would be in this consensus Minifigures too.

The way this is going, everything will be a minifig! The food you eat, the house you live in, maybe even yourself!

@Crasha:
No, you’ve got to check two of the three boxes for it to count as a minifig by the legal trademark definition. Just a head, or even multiple heads, only gets you one out of three boxes, which is only 50% of the way to the goal.

I thought I remembered this definition from somewhere, but it leaves out Tee Vee, and I can't accept that.

So apparently, two 1x1s and a jumper plate qualify as a minifig now. Okay then.....

Because they go in the animals section of bricklink.
