City Advent Calendar - Day 16

Posted by ,

After yesterday's disappointment yesterday - a solitary bunny - that means that what waits for us behind Door 16 has to be better. At the very least, I would expect that it has more pieces....

More pieces, indeed. Today we have a snowmobile, along with a helmet for the minifig choosing that mode of transportation. It's very refreshing to have something to build after the last few days.

The fire minifig fits quite nicely on there. Hopefully we've turned a corner and we'll have better builds from now on.

Wow. Look, Ma. Multiple "bricks" that fit together to make things!

Shouldn't he sit?

It's no bunny. So, that's good.

Okay, credit where credit's due, that is a pretty sweet little build.

He should probably have skis on the front instead of snowshoes. That thing isn’t threatening any land speed records, so he probably doesn’t even need the helmet. Or his eyes open.

I like it, but from the images it looks like the 'threads' are on a frictionless pin, which to me would be highly annoying. In one photo it has flopped one way and in the other it has flopped the other way. So maybe that would make it a lot less fun as a model.

And according to the inventory, the two pegs in this model are the only Technic pegs in the calendar. Which raises the question of why the designer didn't use friction pegs; if there was another model in the calendar that required frictionless pegs, it would be understandable, to keep from having too many unique elements in the set. But the designer had free reign to choose friction pegs. At least it's an easy fix for anyone who has a decent-sized Lego collection, especially if they save their extra parts.

Are we sure this isn't another rabbit? A better one, but still."

Yes, @Ridgeheart. We are sure.

Alright, that's a bit more like it. If only all the calendar had been like this
