City Advent Calendar - Day 13

Posted by ,

Although certain models in this Advent Calendar have been underwhelming, the minifigures have impressed thus far. Thankfully, we are due to find another behind door thirteen.

Find out after the break...

Our fourth minifigure is another highlight, sporting a knitted jumper decorated with the Classic Space logo. I marginally prefer the more vibrant design found in 41843 Family Christmas Tree Decoration, but this is a lovely alternative and a more affordable one. Even so, the combination of a sand blue torso with dark azure legs does not appeal to me.

By contrast, this alien plush is a fantastic accessory! These pieces were introduced in January and have become quite collectable, so I am pleased to see the element again, coming after its appearance in 42674 Comic Book and Game Store. Furthermore, the character's double-sided head is excellent, particularly given the unusual alternative face with closed eyes.

Overall - This is another great minifigure, with an equally fun accessory.

This torso might be the best reason to get this advent calendar!

Nice jumper. One of the best City X-mas jumpers so far.

You guys love the classic space torso. I'm all about the cute alien plushie.

By in Germany,

One of two or three gifts in this year's CAC that are actually desirable. Need to watch around for discounted calendars; on december 25th online retailers will believ unsold ones are a goldmine...

Is it just me, or does this fig look like Sigourney Weaver with her hair tied back?

Maybe a facehugger would have been a better accessory...

9/10 points. I really do love that plushie-part, and I have indeed been collecting, if not outright hoarding them. The sweater's great. The face though - the first is a face that says "YES, SALLY. I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE YOU HERE AT MY HOUSE DURING CHRISTMAS, SALLY. OF COURSE YOU MAY OPEN ANOTHER BOTTLE OF RED, SALLY. YES, I DO AGREE THAT THE TURKEY I SLAVED OVER IS A BIT DRY, SALLY. I AM SO PLEASED AND PRIVILIGED TO HAVE YOU AS FOR A MOTHER-IN-LAW, SALLY. PLEASE, BUT DO TELL ME ABOUT YOUR VIEWS ON IMMIGRANTS AND/OR CRYPTO, SALLY.".

The second face, of course, is the face of relief after Sally-in-law has... left, possibly never to be seen or heard of, ever again.

Given the matching colours I can only assume yesterday’s skateboard belongs to our little alien buddy here

And here she is! In all honesty this one minifigure is what compelled me to get the City AC this year - not that I got it solely for her, since I can always enjoy a City AC, but I get them only occasionally, usually letting Star Wars be my only one (the most I’ve ever done in a year is three, with Star Wars, City, and Friends). But I simply could not pass up a Classic Space Christmas sweater. I had to have it.

Love the sweater, and love the plushie. Definitely one of the best things in this calendar so far.

I split up the family from one CAC and gave this sweater to Benny.
