Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 4
Posted by CapnRex101,The standard of the Star Wars Advent Calendar has fluctuated drastically in the first three days, with outstanding figures on days one and three, but a mundane workbench in between.
Let's see which way day four goes...
I think the Pit Droid is a fine addition, as our second droid in as many days. Similar brick-built versions of this droid type have appeared in previous Advent Calendars, but this one's reddish brown and dark tan colours are most accurate to their appearance in The Phantom Menace, so the repetition does not bother me.
Also, there have been alterations made from the droid's two prior appearances, with larger feet and a 1x1 slope attached to the body on this occasion. The feet do seem disproportionately big, but they provide more stability, which is useful because the figure is very poseable. I particularly love the ability to tilt the head a little, giving the droid some personality.
Overall - Although similar to items in a couple of earlier Advent Calendars, the Pit Droid looks superb.

Day 4:
0 points (+ 10 from yesterday = 10): Fr - A bit on the stingy side. Two objects, but so, so small.
1 (+ 8 = 9): Dy - Let's just hope it is a bird or toy house.
2 (+ 7 = 9): Ct - The best thing about is the colour. Still a cheap repeat from last year.
3 (+2 = 5): MC - A walking cactus! (and another, non-walking plant)
4 (+ 11 = 15): SW - The pit droid design has become fairly good by now, though they're still not fully foldable.
5 (+ 7 = 12): HP - Cool sweater and sad face (she got the minecraft AC this year) do the trick for me.
Disney: A cute, small house 3.5/5p
Friends: A nice 'Once upon a time' tile and... things. 2.5/5p
Minecraft: I like the Octan build 4.5/5p
Harry Potter: 4/5p
Star Wars: It can move, but has nothing to do 4/5p
"Hit the nose!"
I like this little guy. The last picture really shows how much personality you can get out of him. Might be the best design yet out of all three AC Pit Droids.
Collecting these for my Peli Motto workforce.

GREAT idea! I plan an interdimensianal space station with a droid workshop (this AC with expansions) serving as a legal front for Spyrius. Aunty Pelli will make a perfect distraction! The woman can (and will) talk!
The oversized feet and stubby legs remind me of Chaplin’s famous “bread roll dance” from The Gold Rush.
Pit droid designs have certainly come a long way since the original Phantom Menace sets, lots of more finicky pieces so they don’t end up bulkier than minifigs
Now this is an amazing Pit Droid.
I got a second, different bag with the pit droid today. I wonder if I got a duplicate, or if it just migrated over from another day.

On the other hand, the heads are essentially unchanged.
This is not the droid that I was looking for.......(Sigh).

Well we got some 12 more to go lol
I cant decide which one I like better: this one or the one from 75366: https://brickset.com/article/102326/star-wars-advent-calendar-day-4 This one's colors are movie-accurate, 2023's colors were festive. This one's feet make it more stable, but they're also oversized. I just can't decide...
