Star Wars Advent Calendar Review: Day 6

Hoth has been by far the most popular subject of past Star Wars Advent Calendars, perhaps due to its appropriately wintry conditions. Today's minifigure is making its third appearance in these annual sets and will provide ideal opposition for the DF.9 anti-infantry battery revealed yesterday.

The Snowtrooper underwent a substantial redesign in 2014 and the most recent version is one of my favourite Star Wars minifigures. I am therefore quite pleased to see one behind door number six as these Snowtroopers are only available in two other sets at the moment and are therefore quite appealing for army building.

A printed backpack is included along with the standard helmet and torso designs which look splendid. Unfortunately the kama worn by other Snowtroopers is not present, presumably due to the size of the cardboard box in which it would be stored and the confined space of the Advent Calendar window. This is not a major issue but it would have been nice to see a figure which matches his Imperial brethren exactly.

The minifigure is equipped with a blaster rifle, further indicating that weapons racks are absent from this year's calendar. I certainly hope so!

Overall - 4.0 - This is another excellent addition to an Imperial army but I would have liked a fabric kama to be worn as it is on other Snowtroopers.

By in United Kingdom,

I think the karma could have fit, they had skirts in CMF before!
but the figure is still good

Shame about the missing skirt, but I wasn't 100% sold on the skirt piece in the first place. 6 days in and a 50% minifig ratio - and all troop builders! Surely this has got to be the best value Star Wars calendar ever.

I wonder how long they can keep this 50-50 ratio up!

I love the minifig--score of 5 for me. Great detail and getting a blaster with no weapons rack yet is a huge plus. And to get a spare printed tile piece for the backpack, too!

@starwars4ever2 the answer to that can be easily found but I wont spoil the fun, all I will say is we'll know in 19 days at the max :) as for the snow troopers, glad to have another in my army. those along with Tie Pilots are my most numerous troops. (I really need more stormies lol)

By in Puerto Rico,

Love the minifigure and one can't never have enough of these guys to maintain order in the Artic sector (where my JW park is located and they are working on a new attraction: a Yeti from Orient Expedition, the researchers are really happy for the protection).

^ I wonder how long before some makes a KKK MOC with this helmet? Don't worry, it won't be me making it... but... just sayin.

Basically a nice figure, but I'm getting seriously tired of Mr Snarlyface.
