Star Wars Advent Calendar Review: Day 7
Posted by CapnRex101,
We have now opened the first week of gifts in this year's Star Wars Advent Calendar and have yet to come across a disappointing one. Day seven reveals a departure from what has gone before as we remain ensconced on Hoth and receive our first minifigure scale model.
Today's 'Snow'trooper is a delight. Models such as this are often the weakest aspect of these annual sets but I am very satisfied with this entry. It incorporates a simple stud shooter for firing snowballs alongside a snowman based on an Imperial Snowtrooper, or perhaps an Imperial Officer in field attire. I like the spherical body and the red horn which represents the nose looks quite nice as well, although I think orange would have been a more suitable colour.
It is worth noting that this helmet has never appeared in white without printing before and that the stud shooter can, of course, be detached and used as a handheld weapon for a minifigure if you wish.
Overall - 4.0 - I would have preferred a mini model or a minifigure, but today's stud-shooting 'Snow'trooper adds a welcome touch of fun to the Battle of Hoth.

A pretty neat little model!
COOL!
I'd been thinking this helmet is worn by the drivers of the Rebels version of the AT-ST. Guess I must be mistaken. If so, that's a great little bonus. Plus in years past not even the minifigs were armed... now even the snowmen are!
The "Rebels" version is white, but it has printing.
Nice little build , like the blue cylinder. I want to try a carrot nose piece used on Olaf. I feel it may fit better.
Nice, I hope that helmet makes a bigger appearance on more sets.
I like this cute little build. It's nice to get this helmet in white. So far, the SW Advent Calendar has not disappointed.
I feel that this would be a lot nicer if the carrot nose were the orange unicorn horn piece they use for Olaf's carrot nose in the Disney Princess sets. Unless, maybe they don't have carrots in the Star Wars universe? I'm not an expert on Star Wars vegetables. I'm probably also overthinking this.
The snowball stud shooter is cute. I know some people don't like stud shooters in Star Wars sets, but here it has a clear advantage over a normal blaster because the snowball ammo fits the winter theme.
Yeah, it would've looked so much better with an orange "unicorn" horn (part 89522).
A nice twist on the set!
