Star Wars Advent Calendar Review: Day 9

We have now been on Hoth for four days and I am ready to move onto another planet as it is starting to get a bit chilly. However, before we leave for a new destination there is one more minifigure to be revealed behind the ninth door.

The latest version of the Hoth Rebel Trooper made its first appearance in the 2015 Star Wars Advent Calendar and has since been available in two other sets. Nevertheless, today's gift provides a pleasing opportunity to expand your Rebel forces and includes a relatively rare head which was originally designed for Nik Sant in 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium.

Unfortunately a backpack is not included so this figure looks a little out of place beside other Hoth Rebel Troopers, although he is at least armed with a blaster pistol.

Overall - 4.0 - Minifigures for army building are always welcome but the absence of a backpack is slightly bothersome.

Wow. After six years of Advent Calendars, I'm getting a nice collection of Hoth people. We've now had three Snowtroopers, three Rebels, and General Rieeken.

Maybe it's time to do Starkiller Base for some variety in the snow guys.

I was expecting a backpack for him too, since in the film, they all wear them. Was thinking that if his beard was more white, he'd look like Rex from Rebels.

Nice minifigure, good to set up with my hoth battle scene

I was disappointed that they didn't include any Force Awakens models or figs this year. A first order Stormtrooper would have made this year's calender perfect.

I agree, it's been a year, where are the force awakens models?

I'm quite pleased with this minifig. It's great to add another to the calendar, and from Hoth.

I agree, wholeheartedly. Where is the backpack? But, this is an excellent addition to my Hoth Rebel Trooper mini-figure collection! :D

Unfortunately, instead of a Snowtrooper on day 6 I got the Hoth trooper, I was hoping that maybe they just swapped days, instead I got two Hoth troopers.

It's too bad, I wanted to make the Assault on Hoth a little less one-sided.

I got another Snowtrooper just like day 6. Even the same extra pieces. Not complaining though, snow troopers were my favorite as a kid.

I got a Luke on day four, and I know it's a duplicated. I was mad about the Besping Guard not having the Skates as shown on the box, and now the missing back pack for this one... but I can tell you the skates and back pack are there... just need to be patient.

And I thought he was Rex...

@quirOz I'm pretty sure the white backpack these troopers usually have isn't there, no matter how patient you are.

Why does this article show the finished model in the preview image? All of the other true "Advent Calendars" are just using an image of the closed door.
