The second San Diego Comic-Con exclusive minifigure has now been revealed. Somewhat surprisingly, it is based on Deadpool the Duck, a combination of the famed 'Merc' with a mouth' and Howard the Duck who was introduced in a new comic series this year!

Official images have yet to be revealed but this photo was seemingly taken by IGN and confirms that the head is based on that of Donald and Daisy Duck. Thanks to Jammiedodger714 for bringing the image to our attention.

Update: LEGO has now posted official images on social media.

Will you be trying to hunt down this unusual minifigure? Let us know in the comments.

No, I will not be hunting down this unusual minifigure. Do you think I'm made of money? !!

By in United States,

Another exclusive figure us mortals get to live without. Shame....

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'd rather have deadpool himself as a minifig or an actual Howard the duck, that mining looks ridiculous,
Atleast the vixen one looks buy able, and is part of the awesome dc legends of tomorrow, maybe next year they could introduce Rip hunter or hawk girl.

By in United States,

My thoughts:

"WHAT THE CRAP?"

"Thank goodness it wasn't Squirrel Girl, Stan Lee, Ego or any other characters I wanted..."

"I oddly want this now and will envy all who get it..."

:D

By in United States,

@deephorse- My thoughts exactly!!!

Of course not-I'm still hoping to get my hands on the Saturn V rocket.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow...so many opportunities to make minifigs that haven't been released yet, and this is the best they can do?

Gravatar
By in United States,

For the most part, the comments regarding SDCC sets are fairly uniform and entertaining: "Oh gosh it's a terrible, awful figure that I can't get that I want anyways so excuse me as I hunt them down on eBay!" :P

By in United States,

Wow, there he is... earlier today I found out he was coming, and totally called Donald's head reuse! Fantastic.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I fail to see why people are upset that he's the exclusive fig- would they rather a much more desirable character be a CC exclusive meaning they'd never get their hands on it?! Anyway, it's a decent fig and is better than getting a really cool or important character *flashbacks to Bizarro and Captain Marvel/Shazam figs*

By in United States,

I thought we might have seen a mini-figure of Ego - to follow the pattern of how three years ago it was The Collector from the first Guardians movie - so why not Ego this year.

Oh well, another year where the DC Comics mini-figure outshines the Marvel Comics one...

By in United States,

A big fat NO.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

No such blister packs for Star Wars it would seem, which is always a good thing.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Great, now there's an even more expensive Deadpool minifigure! At least I don't care about this figure.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Even if I could get my hands on this, hard pass.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really like goofy stuff like this, so even though I've never heard Deadpool Duck I'd like to have this minifigure. From the previous comments maybe it isn't very desirable and therefor won't cost too much to buy on the secondary market...

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's so freaking awesome and unique!

But plain red short legs? C'mon, LEGO!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@tkatt ,

I wouldn't count on it being cheap. Deadpool stuff seems to be VERY desirable. The amount of people wanting this figure will likely be less, but due to its rarity the people who want it will probably be willing to pay more for it.

By in United States,

I totally want one.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Let's play the game "Guess the aftermarket value of this minifig!"

Nonetheless it's a very clever recolour of Donald Duck's head.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oh my goodness, this is hilarious and awesome. Love this fig. Won't buy it (haven't gotten any SDCC exclusives), but I love it! Much like @TheBrickPal, I suspected they'd recolor Donald Duck's head (how else would they do it?).

From the image that was attached to The Brick Fan's article (at least originally; the article: http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-marvel-super-heroes-deadpool-duck-sdcc-2017-minifigure-revealed/
The Image: http://comicsalliance.com/files/2016/10/Deadpool_the_Duck_Featured.jpg), I was hoping they'd use a brown Batman belt from TLBM. However, one could always do it oneself (however, there is a belt printed on, so...).

Last, we'll likely get official renders and pics soon enough, however, there is a better, straight-on image of the Deadpool Duck Minifig and blister pack in this article: https://www.bleedingcool.com/2017/07/19/lego-exclusive-duckpool-minifig-sdcc17/

And a direct link the highest quality available of the pic in that article: https://www.bleedingcool.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/20170719_104601-1.jpg

Well, I love it! But I don't have the funding required to acquire one I am sure! Being in the UK makes it even harder to get our hands on these SDCC exclusives. Lego released images now on Facebook of this one. It does look great.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Unlike others I really like this minifigure! As @xboxtravis7992 said I am glad they are making more unknown characters instead of Stan lee etc.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I just want Cisco Ramon to be a minifigure!!

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

He's a cool minifigure, and as a Marvel fan I must get him. I don't know the prices of the exclusive minifigures for SDCC, but if it's $40 I don't think it's expensive. I can't participate in the event so I need to buy one on eBay - they're expensive. A figure will probably cost between $150-$350.

By in Australia,

I am normally strongly anti-Lepin and the like but when Lego persists in supporting scalpers rather than 99.99999999% of their fans with continuing these ridiculous SDCC exclusives , I say Lepin and the like start producing.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Wait, so on the Vixen page, everyone was complaining about how Vixen is such a desirable character and now they have to pay hundreds to get it etc etc. Here, everyone's complaining that Deadpool Duck is such an undesirable character and now they have to pay hundreds to get it. Huh?

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

It looks good, but no I am fine.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Ridiculous. Not the figure, I mean, but to look at another SDCC exclusive I badly want and will never have?!? I almost regret having seen Brickset homepage today...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Have they done deadpool minifigs before, seems strange to make a fig from an "R" movie even if its a kids spin with the donald on there.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Aussiesamurai: Yeah, the whole concept of these figures is just ridiculous. Lego produces a very small, limited number of iconic comic book figures, that most fans will never get their hands on unless they are prepared to pay a fortune. The figures in person are amazing for sure, and if you're an avid Marvel/DC fan it's probably a great experience to get one, but it's just disappointing Lego won't make them available in regular brand stores, for $40 or something. A limited production run of a particular figure is bound to cause sky-high prices on the aftermarket (ranging from $300 to $1000), a price most people can't afford. Lego should think over this, I can hardly see that they're making any profit out of these.

Gravatar
By in United States,

There's a lot of people complaining about the SDCC exclusives.

What's mind boggling about it is that they've already made the printing, set up the productions and everything. Literally all they'd have to do is amp up production and they could make it widely available. Heck, charge $10 for it on the Lego Shop. Either way it gets more on the market and SUBSTANTIALLY reduces aftermarket prices.

True Comic Con Exclusives should be limited to sets that are made with existing parts, maybe with a few custom printed bricks. Having the box and the instructions would still be unique, as would any stickers or custom printed parts, but someone else who wanted to make it could buy the parts online, download the instructions, and make it themself.

Spending all that time making one minifigure for such a small run is mind-boggling.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

This is the perfect exclusive figure. It's unusual enough that people at SDCC will want it, but most of us LEGO Marvel collectors are not going to want such a specific niche character badly enough to get up in arms over it. Now, having said that, I'm still against the idea of exclusive characters; it still burns me up to know that I will never get an official Spider-Man (black costume), Spider-Woman, Captain America (Sam Wilson), or Captain America (Agent of Hydra).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

With all of this coming up again I have spent the last couple of days working on something about how these exclusives left a pretty sour taste in my mouth and turned me off from LEGO as a product. http://www.dangerliam.co.uk/blog/sdcc-exclusives/

Gravatar
By in United States,

There are some on ebay (presale) in the $500s already...so I'd say it has some interest.

Not from me, thankfully. But I only picked up Jean Gray lo those many years ago...

Gravatar
By in Switzerland,

Thanks to lego's basically pro-scalpel strategy, I discovered lepin. Don't think this approach is the greatest for their business.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I think it's great that they chose these two characters as SDCC exclusives this year.
Reason 1: I won't be able to ever get hold of one
Reason 2 I don't care for the characters the slightest bit.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So how many of these will actually be made/sold? Less then 500?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am surprised they didn't do a Stan Lee

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Granted, I have really no idea what SDCC is about. But I am struck again by the perceived level of ownership by some people of TLG's products and strategy.

Are other brands also bringing out exclusives for the event or is only TLG doing this?

Not that I have any knowledge of TLG's decisions here, but I'm going to assume positive intend. That they are bringing these out so that people that went to the event can bring back an exclusive momento. Handing these out fairly is always going to be challenging taks.

If you are going, you can decide to put your name into the hat, or not.

If you managed to get one, you can decide if you wan tot keep it or sell. (Not judging!)

If you are not going, you can decide to try the aftermarket or not.

Based on your values you can decide to try clone brands or not. (Not judging!)

Whatever you decide, have peace with it. You cannot control what you cannot control. Whatever others decide, including TLG, it's up to them.

I am almost certain that everyone should be able to carry on with their lives if they do not get these exclusives. It's ok not to have everything. Surely there must be more important things to worry about.

Personally, I'm passing on this one.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don't know, I think it's pretty cool!
Question: When was Deadpool ever a duck? DuckPool?
I wish an inhuman would come, maybe in a set!
I guess now all we need is Dogpool! Then we'll have the whole family!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Actually, what we REALLY need is Spider-ham!

Gravatar
By in United States,

What is sad to me is that LEGO makes these for ONE convention in the world instead of at least going to every major Con in the world with these. It makes more sense to me if they would do that, rather than doing this at the large Hollywood ego stroke fest that is now the SDCC. Would doing this make them readily available for everyone? No, I get that, but at least people would have a greater chance to get them because they want them to collect and not just a bunch of people trying to get two or three solely to offset their con costs. Heck, LEGO, at least make a mail in promo where a couple of hundred are available in a lottery with a purchase of LEGO, or an entry page where you can put in a ballot or something (ala Batpod). I get that it is neat to have limited collectables to get people something limited, but at least make it so people who cannot afford to spend 1000's to go to one well overblown convention to just have a chance to get one.

By in United States,

This should answer the question on whether or not Lego has a problem with the reseller market.
