SDCC exclusive Vixen revealed!

Vixen

San Diego Comic-Con is just a few days away but LEGO continues to reveal exclusive products which will be available at the event via their social media channels, the latest of which is this Vixen figure! The minifigure is based on Vixen's appearance in the Legends of Tomorrow series and is packaged in a plastic clam shell, as is customary.

It seems likely that a second exclusive minifigure will be announced tomorrow, assuming the LEGO follows the trend established in previous years.

You can view a larger image as well as another without the packaging after the break...

Will you be attempting to acquire this minifigure or would you rather LEGO did away with convention exclusives altogether? Let us know in the comments.

Check out the new 'Legends of Tomorrow' branding on the packaging... is this hinting at some new lines of DC superheroes?

@Sparky Ham I doubt it, the same branding was on the Atom's packaging last year. I do wish there was a line of CW sets, though.

Usually I'm really upset I won't be able to get an SDCC minifigure, but this year that's not the case. Vixen just seems like a really weird, and frankly bland choice.

I hate TLG so much for this

Not as cool as the previous sdcc. But a pretty decent minifigure.

Crap... The lack of announcement to this point had me thinking the SDCC Minifigures were over... I dread to know what will be the Marvel figure announced in the coming days. If it is any of the following (Stan Lee, Ego the Living Planet, Squirrel Girl, Baron Zemo, etc...) I will be really pissed at TLG for making any of those characters rare SDCC content.

Foolish me for thinking that the only SDCC items this year were the Brickheadz... *sigh*

Loved the Atom minifigure last year, but I felt that the Captain America was a bit weak. Fingers crossed for a good Marvel Minifigure reveal tomorrow!

The marvel figure is going to be Captain Planet.

I hope the Marvel one's a good one!

And still nothing in europa..........they are so much horribly expensive on ebay -_-

Putting aside the DC Super Hero Girls line, there is a serious dearth of female characters in the Super Heroes sets, and even fewer women of color. While I'm pleased to see the existence of a Vixen minifig, making it an SDCC exclusive only exacerbates the problem.

LEGO should categorize the SDCC minifigs as previews instead of exclusives. Convention attendees would have the benefit of early access, while the rest of us get to wait patiently for the general release of the minifig in an affordable set. The only people who could possibly complain are the eBay resellers.

I'm firmly on the side of no more exclusives. Ultimately, the only people they serve are the ones who sell them on ebay for hundreds more than they paid and the knock-off creators who make their versions of these exclusive figs the center pieces of sets that most people wouldn't consider if they weren't so hard to get otherwise. TLG would make WAY more money off of these if they were freely available.

Wish these characters were made much more available to the general public.

I was hoping they were finished with the figures. I haven't started watching that show yet, but I like the other CW shows. I wouldn't mind collecting these figures, but at the price, I'll never consider it.

I like the idea of preview figures like Azog and Batgirl were previously.

I am SO tired of exclusive figures. Thankfully I'm not interested in TV shows so this one doesn't appeal much, but still. I agree with @Mars Needs LEGO about SDCCs not being eternal exclusives. But if I wasn't angry enough already, one thing really brings out my inner Atrocitus--NUMBERED BRICKHEADZ. I can almost guarantee that those numbers will be skipped in normal sets, meaning that there will be gaps in our collections. So thanks San Diego planes for stealing our money, thanks Comic Con for stealing our money, but in my case THANKS EBAY FOR STEALING ALL OF MY MONEY. Fin.

Why is there an exclamation point at the end of the article title?
This isn't cool, it's sad!

I agree with @Mars Needs LEGO, convention figures should be previews, not exclusives.

I also agree with Mars.
Lego needs to make these comic con figures available to everyone. People who are able to get them at the con just put them on eBay to make a profit.

Personally I am ok with exclusive SDCC minifigures as long as they're variations of characters we will get in regular sets.

For example, if I got an ARROW Green Arrow as a SDCC figure but got a regular comic version of Green Arrow in a set I wouldn't care to much. (And they did that)

However, making Captain Marvel (SHAZAM!) an exclusive with no figure for those of us who want him in a regular set is crappy.

I also agree that LEGO is sorely lacking in female characters with the regular DC Superhero line (can we please finish the Legion founders with Saturn Girl already) so it's sad to see Vixen as an exclusive.

I hate myself for pre-ordering the BrickHeadz sets through an eBay scalper. I do. But I want the sets. And I want them for this ridiculous price instead of twice that ridiculous price in 10 months.

I've always felt...I dunno, on the fence about buying products like LEPIN. I'm not on the fence anymore. I'll buy a LEPIN set for as long as this practice of TLG sticking it to their consumer base. I get having exclusives to pay for the insane costs of running a booth at a show. Company I worked for was guilty of it. Hated being on THAT end of it. But we made stuff available outside the show through a club you could join.

It wasn't a money grab, it was a membership and we were a small company that lost money every time we went to these shows. But companies can do better than this. They can care for their hardcore fans more, they can make it work I've seen it happen.

I'm just frustrated. At the system and at myself for fueling it.

Id love an explanation from TLG re these exclusives, to me seems contradictory. They ALWAYS say that ultimately Lego is a toy for children, how many actual children go to these toy shows and comic cons.

By in United States,

Since I'm already back off the ledge now that Firestorm is to be included in a set, I'm semi-back to a more cynical view of the exclusive giveaways, especially from the CW-based versions instead of those from the comic books.

That being said, I'd still pay the over-the-top secondary market prices for my favorite character, even if it would be one of those ugly, creepy Brickheads. But that would be only because he's my favorite character; the cost for the exclusive sets is still prohibitive to say the least, even if they are some of the coolest sets / minifigures (Shazam, Bizarro, micro Dagobah, micro Bag-End and of course Action Comics 1 come to mind).

By in Belgium,

I'd love to see a comic version of Vixen appear in a real set. I'm with every one of you hating on the exclusives..

By in Australia,

@Mars Needs LEGO Indeed! Better still, if they kept the special comic-con packaging, prices for mint condition figures wouldn't drop too much. I would like to see more diversity in the Super Heroes sets as well, but it comes down to the content they have to base it off, and they can't stray too far from the mainstream stuff since it has to appeal to kids. And unfortunately, the mainstream stuff isn't particularly diverse in the first place.

I want sisco Ramon was a minifigure he would be great in my S.T.A.R Labs!!

@Mars Needs Lego
The superman minifigure released at NYCC in 2011, and subsequently released in a 2012 set, is exactly what Lego should be doing. Azog and Bard the Bowman are other examples; I believe Comic Con should be previews because of the wide array of Lego sets they could be included in.

By in United States,

Does TLG realize that this forces people:

A. Be turned off from being full collectors
B. Buy knock off versions
C. Be frustrated enough to not both collecting lego as they cannot afford exclusives

Gravatar
By in United States,

This practice needs to stop. It literally benefits no one except for scummy scalpers who get their fig and then proceed to immediately list it on Ebay for ridiculous prices.

If they had put Captain Marvel or Bizarro in an actual set, I'd have bought it and given them my money. But they made them exclusive to certain people in a certain part of the world at a certain time, so I bought a knockoff instead. gg Lego. gg.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Welp, looks like it's another great Comic Con minifigure I'm not getting. I do agree with many of the others who think that these minifigures should be a preview and then be available to the public instead of a select few get these minifigs at comic con and sell them for couple hundred dollars

By in United States,

Gotta' remember all these exclusives are done as advertising. Gets everyone talking about the unique items they have ONLY at the show, drives people to their booth, creates hype and talkin' Lego ALL week. They don't care about aftermarket. Just getting buzz and hype. It's just advertising.
