Something BIG is approaching...

Posted by ,

A new UCS Millennium Falcon has been rumoured for several months and an image published on LEGO's Twitter feed today will surely fuel further speculation. This shot compares the box of 10258 London Bus to another which is currently concealed and has a volume almost five times larger than the Creator Expert set!

We can expect further teaser images to emerge throughout August and Brickset will continue to update you as more are revealed.

Oh boy. The countdown begins...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

My wallet is screaming in pain!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Can't wait!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

4,86 x 1.686 = 7755,6 pcs. That is incredibly big. And a price point that is incredibly high. I feel a divorce coming.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

Maybe it's finally the official LEGO concentration camp?? (Bad joke, I know)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So long as its not also 5-6 times the price! :D

Seriously though, if its not the UCS Falcon I'll be surprised.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm torn between excitement and dread (wondering how accurate the rumors of a 799.99 US price are...)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm sure it is the Falcon. I thought it was rumored at $699. Way too rich for me, but I'm sure it will still sell like hotcakes.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Let's just hope it isn't something garbage like Insult on Hoth was...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've had a separate account going since Spring where I've been socking away cash. Little here, little there. I see something discounted on Amazon, do full assessment...how bad do I NEED it. If I can get by without, money goes to account. I'm up to 624... I have 112 in LEGO bucks, so I'm close...

Of course, I still want the flipping DEATH STAR...ugh...

Gravatar
By in United States,

DEFINITELY the Winter Village set.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

For the brickset survey a couple of days ago, one of the reasons for coming to to the site should have been "To check for the reveal of the new UCS Falcon." Literally every day for about two years I've wondered if today was the day a new one would be announced.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Possibly a truly giant technic set worthy of the 40th anniversary? UCS falcon? If it's a new UCS falcon I'd laugh so loud at all the investors who've got copies of 10179 stockpiled!!! Hope they reveal soon, I hate being kept in suspense!!! My credit card is readying itself for a big hit!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Winter is coming... or just a cold, dead period in my wallet...

Gravatar
By in United States,

The suspense!

Gravatar
By in United States,

We know it will be expensive...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^^ @CM4Sci I'm hoping it's the Winter Village set - WOW if so!! It was about this time last year that we found out about the train...

Gravatar
By in United States,

The box volume is an interesting fact. The London Bus is indeed right about 20,000 cm^3. For a box to be 97,000 cm^3, that is over 50% larger by volume than either 10179 or 75159, both of which are about 60,000 cm^3.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

On the one hand I'm sad, because it would be great to have something new, but on the other hand I'm relieved. Thankfully no competition for Ninjago City.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hopefully it's not a London-themed set (like the London Eye or something)....do we think they used the double decker bus for comparison because it's one of the largest boxes they've used lately?

Gravatar
By in Poland,

@quin1974: DO THE MATH 4,86 * 1686 = 8194 !!!

Gravatar
By in Spain,

I've worked with the original image and photoshop. The cockpit is clear, it's the Millenium Falcon.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

OMG! I was planning on (maybe) buying NINJAGO City and Saturn V this year, but now I have to think again.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

When will it come??

Gravatar
By in United States,

In other news, leaked documents show LEGO's plans to take over the world economy with 2017's D2C sets...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

We don't know whether the multiplier of 4.86 applies to the box's volume or the number of pieces.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

There's an image over on eurobricks that someone has ticketed with where you can clearly see the cockpit and mandible. I say clearly...

Gravatar
By in Australia,

On September 1st millions of wallets will cry out in terror

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Holy Macaroni. Mother of all hypes!
Can't wait for the next tease.. the suspense...
This must be it:

U C S M I L L E N N I U M F A L C ON

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

You only live once, and I'm not going to miss out this time!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

With assembly square, Saturn V, the London bus, the technic tow truck, technic extreme adventure, the carousel, the minecraft mountain cave, the old fishing store, the silent mary, ninjago city and other smaller sets and now whatever this turns out to be, Lego are really punishing my finances this year!!! More beans on toast and gruel then lol!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I hope it's a new Xbox.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

It's the UCS Star Wars advent calendar?

Gravatar
By in United States,

If you save the image from this news article, it saves as "What a piece of junk!" I guess I'd better resist buying some other sets for a while!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@mrdoofa - No kidding! I've been able to sell things and wing it this year so far, but there is no way I can keep up year after year like this and continue w/ other interests.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

i hope it's something new, a re-release of 10179 would be boring. especially for those who already own the old one

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Whatever it's, my home and a place to buy it will come fir$t.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Richpepperell , can you post a link please? It's impossible to find anything on EB...

Thanks

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Lego House in Billund? ;)

Gravatar
By in United States,

I sold my sealed 10179 in anticipation of buying a couple of the re-releases. Let's hope this is it!

Gravatar
By in United States,

If you look at the bottom right corner, you can see the Lego logo, so the box is upside down in the paper.

Gravatar
By in Russian Federation,

ELH2806 will that be boring for those who own older version? For those 2k people? Yeah it will be definitely boring for those thousands collectors ,new generations etc who doesn't have one , to have one . You re absolutely right.

Gravatar
By in France,

This UCS Star Wars Alderaan set is a really exagerated. They shouldn't have made it so big with 7000 2x4 brown bricks.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

What if it's a 3D printer to print official Lego bricks? That would be something...

Gravatar
By in France,

i have been slowly bricklinking the old one but stopped in January when the rumours started.....so at least the other half knows i will be buying/building one. Just need to get the box home without her seeing it (and skimp the holiday next year...)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Fascinating, though the box is the wrong shape--I've never seen Lego come in such a non-flat box.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

I settled with my other half already months ago that if a new MF would come along I would buy it, no matter the cost...

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

I simply cant pay it with credit card, because thats price is the double than my daily transfer limit :D

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Huw, there is a good view of what you are looking for on your forum, ucs falcon rumours. can quite clearly see some details including the lego logo when it is up side down.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@hrcornejo can confirm--the box is upside down, the Lego logo is clearly visible. The "cockpit" it not so clearly visible, but there's something that very well could be a Millennium Falcon cockpit. I'm really surprised they didn't just use a stand-in box and instead wrapped an actual product. They must have -wanted- the Photoshop nerds to come out for this :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@ra226, The death star II came in a near cube box if I remember clearly. But yes it is rare.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm always suspicious of photoshop jobs like this; it's as easy to paste your own "hidden image" in as to reveal hidden details. That said; I downloaded the image from twitter, played with it and could reproduce the one that's doing the rounds. More or less. Enough to recognise the cockpit, anyway. Of course -to anyone else- I'm no more trustworthy than the original image. ;)

Oh, and I just noticed the filename of the image on this page. :D

Gravatar
By in United States,

The entire Winter Village collection rereleased?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hyyyyyyypppppeeeee!!!

Now hopefully this isn't just another re-release like the Death Star.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Looking at the colour-saturated images on reddit, I swear I can make out the CREATOR logo. Standing by my earlier Winter Village assumption - towards the top right of the inner box is a reindeer and it's something walled like an ice rink ;-) Keep staring... you can see anything you want!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

"What a piece of junk!"

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Strange how you can make out the lego logo but not the star wars one that should be right next to it. Can't decide if I can make out the black stormtrooper figure that is in the corner of 2017 boxes. Does look like the cockpit though. Will be interesting to see just how many they will sell at the rumoured price. Or is it just pushing the ceiling too far?

Gravatar
By in United States,

^ This box shouldn't even have a header, which is weird

Gravatar
By in United States,

Nice of them to share the box size so the resellers can start clearing out storage space. :P

Gravatar
By in United States,

New Starkiller base UCS set?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Personally, I'd much rather have a UCS Cloud City modular set, but if it has to be the Falcon, so be it.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

My price prediction for NZ : $1300. Minimum. Certainly a solid 25% over the US/UK price point, whatever that may be.

That's a Ghostbusters Firehouse, a SHIELD Helicarrier plus a decent Creator set. A thousand pieces.

As "desirable" as a re-vamped UCS MF would be, we all know that it'll be the Death Star scenario all over again : re-hash the old model with minor tweaks and bump up the price to something astronomical to make it appear to be more special than it is.

Safe to say that I've not even got an inkling of a twinge of the merest iota of piqued interest in buying this. If "this" is, indeed, what it might well be....

Gravatar
By in United States,

If they are teasing and hinting at box size alone, It is no doubt that whatever this is, it will break some records for number of pieces and probably price! If it is a Falcon, no doubt it will attempt to better the previous 10179. Very excited about this regardless of what it is. I love big LEGO sets!

Seems strange that they are using a Creator Export set to showcase a Star Wars UCS set though... How sure are we that this is a Falcon?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Mars Needs LEGO, maybe it's a cloud city and falcon set.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I own 10179 but i will buy this thing instantly if it's in fact a new Falcon. By far my favourite vessel of the franchise and you can never own enough of 'em :-)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Maybe the bus itself is a big hint... perhaps it's a really big bus station ha ha!! (I hope not. Unless it's winter and there's snow and twinkly lights ;-))

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hope there are some awesome Minifigs included!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I know this is just the crazy fanboy in me... but I would absolutely LOVE a UCS Batmobile. I don't care which one, 1989, 1966, 2016. Any one would be great. It's just that I have no desire for another UCS Millenium Falcon. I do however have crazy dreams.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Maybe the box is upside down as there is a handle on the top of the box (given its wild shape and weight). Would be different and something that they wouldn't want people to see (the handle, that is).

?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

On the Lego Facebook page it states that the London bus box is 20,000 cubic cm and that this box is 4.86 times bigger exactly. Now that's a big box!!!
As pleased as I would be with a new UCS falcon I'm sort of hoping it isn't and that it's a complete surprise nobody is expecting. Judging by the way Lego are building it up it looks like it's going to be breaking some records though. Can't wait!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Deyorew: Considering the massive amounts of rumors and and the fact that there will be two D2C sets revealed September 1st, unless it's a gigantic Winter Village set (which I can't see as likely considering WV has no special milestone this year) it's the Falcon.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Double-Jay-Bricks hey, if we're going for longshots, how about Minas Tirith? For those of us who enjoyed the short-lived LotR theme, that was always a glaring omission.

Gravatar
By in Austria,

Am I out of line to hope for a UCS NCC-1701 #betterfranchise

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

A handle was used on the big box for the Duplo black castle - to my knowledge the hitherto largest Lego box by volume at ca. 70.000 ccm.

Gravatar
By in {Unknown country},

It's going to be an almost 10,000 piece 3D version of the Lego logo with a white background. The picture is the actual packaging and any photo manipulation that shows an upside down set in a paper bag is just, at best, wishful thinking and at worst, delusional.
So everyone clear some space for a 72x36 stud centrepiece in your displays!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

My secret source inside Lego has confirmed that this is UCS Millennium Falcon and will be the first set in the new Star Wars Girls range. Rendered in pastel pink and turquiose and featuring eleven Star Wars Mini Dolls including Miss Chewbacca, Toyah Solo and a lavender protocol droid C3-XY.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Nice filename ;-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Here's hoping they redesign it from the ground up for a new build for people who have the original instead of "updating" the old model (like they did with the Death Star)

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ra226 I wish there was hope for Minas Tirith. It would be an incredible set at that kind of scale. That might be the only set that would be a day 1 purchase for me. Instead it will be the UCS Falcon which I will have to pass on.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Chances seem pretty good that this is a new UCS Millennium Falcon set, especially given the timing. It's the 40th anniversary of Star Wars this year (1977-2017), and the original UCS Falcon set was released in October 2007 for the 30th anniversary. We're now coming up on that date this year...stay on target!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Minas Tirith would be incredible. Even as a hardcore Star Wars fan, I'd rather have that in a second. It's wishful thinking though...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It's obvious that with the huge white box it is indeed the white city (Minas Tirith).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

If it is the Falcon, it is a pity we get two repeats in one year. would be nice to mix up new vehicles etc with remakes.

Gravatar
By in United States,

All I can say is that I hope it ISN'T a UCS Falcon, or any Star Wars set for that matter. I'm really hoping it's something not licensed, and a building of some sort.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Not that fussed about another Falcon even if it is UCS. Would much rather see something new. Minas Tirith would be absolutely incredible but I can't see it happening :-(
Lego own special edition Castle would be good too.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I really hope it's a UCS Millennium Falcon made out of Duplo. That would give you all a dilemma!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@legoed19 That would be the biggest troll that Lego has ever produced, since Attack on Hoths 2 man attack. I don't have the money for this, I was going to get the creator Ferris wheel next week...now I'm not so sure...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Definately a UCS Attack on Naboo

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I bet whatever it is Lepin already know and are busy cloning it!!! It might be a UCS Lepin factory lol!!!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

The 'old' Luke minifigure from TLJ that was conspicuously absent from the 1st wave of TLJ sets will be in this new UCS Falcon set. It will be officially revealed on Force Friday and goes on sale 1st October.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

FACT: every time the Millennium Falcon has appeared in a Star Wars movie it was when the movie was shot in London, therefore a big box with a London Bus set next to it must mean it's the UCS Falcon.

What a bust.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

UCS life size JarJar! Awesome. Can't wait.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's the 40th Anniversary Alderaan set:
Thousands of brown studs and blocks...collector's nightmare, but no collection would be complete without it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Can it be Wayne Manor from The LEGO Batman Movie? Seems like it would be a great giant set with a lot of detail.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Someone said this will kill those 'Stocking piling 10179'... What a silly statement. NO ONE is stockpiling the 10179, or they would not be worth what they are worth.
I will laugh if they are talking about the Ninjago City set box.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Please be a Hogwarts castle for a Harry Potter return!!!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

UCS Barad Dur! . . . Maybe just wistful thinking.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow...that's some series number of Lego pieces! Hopefully half the box's volume isn't stickers.

With the The Last Jedi coming out in a few months AND with Christmas coming up around the same time, it could very well be a UCS MF! I exptect a $500 price tag based on the size of whatever it is.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

If its the UCS Falcon; I'm just glad I bought mine when it first came out and didn't have to pay the high prices on the secondary market.

I hope its not a rerelease and will actually have better detail in the inside besides the cockpit.

The one in 2007 was 679.99 CAD, I can't see them going much higher in price. 700 Us would be well over 800 CAD.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I hope it's the Planet Express Ship....

Gravatar
By in United States,

I got a bad feeling about this...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I would like to think I have a good eye (and knowledge of Photoshop) and there's definitely an outline of the Millenium Falcon cockpit in the image provided, and already edited - anyone denying it is just a buzzkill (or perhaps also not a Star Wars fan). The only chance it's not a Millenium Falcon is that it's just a troll from Lego*, but they're not particularly well known for anything like that. Plus I think people are perhaps not considering the importance of the 40th anniversary of Star Wars this year - they had to bring out the big guns for a celebration like this and although the Snowspeeder is amazing that's not as iconic. I wonder if the rumour of interchangeable circular and rectangular dishes is true?

Good thing I have over £100 of VIP points to soften the blow! This would be one of the few occasions I'd redeem them.

In terms of comments we were probably thinking the Lepin review was the Big Bang but I think this one's hit the mother lode!

* Companies do seem to troll their fans more often now though - just look at Spider-Man Homecoming - no spoilers but DO NOT wait for the final end credits scene because it's a bigger waste of time than Tony Stark in therapy and Howard The Duck together.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Maybe its a TECHNIC Falcon. 1977 was Star Wars and Technic. 2007 was last UCS Falcon.
LEGO needs to top the Porsche set from last year for the 40th Anniversary of TECHNIC a Falcon would do it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

So essentially rerelease Death Star and snowspeeder and a millennium falcon ...and I'm guessing most fans will rebuy these sets. Seems odd to have so many repeats in quick succession vs new builds.

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

Strange that they use a Creator expert set to reference a Star Wars one if it is indeed a UCS MF. Either it's that or a completely new gargantuan model.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It is a 6000 piece UCS Twin Pod Cloud Car

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

A UCS falcon with a proper fully detailed interior would easily be capable of taking the highest piece count record. Another thing that unlike 10179 this would most likely have numbered bags rather than having to sift through 5,000 or more pieces!!!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Oh wow, they are releasing a life size UCS Aunt Beru sculpture! And only 10.000 copies (first production run) will come with a Lars homestead insignia printed on the box front, containing a limited edition brick build glass of Blue Milk in a new shade of blue!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I really do think it's the MF....but I secretly hope it's Modular Buildings Greatest Hits, Vol 1. Or some sort of gigantic Landmark set!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Let us Lego fans begin to dig up a graveyard for our wallets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's another Death Star!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

shut up and take my money!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Maybe they are bringing back Galidor with a bang!

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

Dont get too excited, guys, it's probably just a huge box of chocolate.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Maybe it's an ultimate minifig scale battle of endor, with star destroyer, mon calamari star cruiser, x-wing, y-wing, a-wing, b-wing, TIE fighter, TIE interceptor, TIE bomber, and imperial shuttle. That actually would be really cool! Plus something I'd actually like to get, since I'm only into minifig scale sets. To be perfectly honest, I don't like big-scale sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm hoping it's a UCS Bespin Cloud City!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have inside source that this is the expert creator lego friend set

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

A 100 liter box? That's 40x50x50 cm!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I for one am definitely hoping it's another ucs falcon. I very, VERY, stupidly sold mine (before the price boom) as I didn't have room for it. I've regretted it since the day I sold it.

This would make me much happier, provided of course I can get it without the Mrs knowing what it cost!

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Whatever this is... it's fricken HUGE...
I hope it's something worth the size...

Gravatar
By in France,

That's no moon !!

Gravatar
By in Italy,

Could be the 21037 Lego House set for September 28 ?

Gravatar
By in France,

If a new UCS +500€ MF rumor comes true, it's a good new... And bad one at once for many like me who have been dreaming for long to get it on display with my collection. I'm an AFOL, playing Lego for now 40 years, but I'm also now and first a father, and have to cope with choices, responsibilities and everyday's life realities. So once again, if it's really that expensive, I will do nothing but spent hours in front of pictures, utube reviews and dream this could be mine... Lego is a toy, and even if it has for years gone far above simple play value, should stay a toy. LEG GODT. Is it still really a toy? How many of us can spend so much money on "just" a lego set and play well, even for the true love of it? So I guess and am afraid that once more I'll just be like a child in front of a marvelous Christmas showcase, dreaming of what I could do and how I could enjoy to get it. The main purpose is of course making money, and making more of it. I can understand that but... Lego should take care not to go too expensive as they do for a while. We dream of a new MF release and they know it. But do they really think we all can spare or spend so much on a set? I really hope price will be affordable, and maybe a price per part ratio close to Saturn V's... + license fees ... I cross my fingers but...

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

The Force should be strong to lift this thing up!

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

I'm just hoping it is Lego

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

WHAT'S IN THE BOX? Maybe Lego will surprise us and it's the decapitated head of Lepin's CEO. That would be one way to save on legal fees.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

@TheBrickPal so, it's big?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I actually hope this ISN'T the UCS Falcon that I so desperately want, as we just had our first child this year and have absolutely no money. I'll buy it anyway though, so I'd rather they wait till I'm a bit more flush with cash please!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Curses, I have just done £400 on Ninjago MF, 70613, 70615 and the Ultimate Batmobile plus some bits for my kids.

Guess I will be mortgaging a kidney :D

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Its probably just a mini-scale polybag of a falcon stuck inside a HUGE box to wind people up!

Gravatar
By in Norway,

if you use photoshop to darken the image you can make out the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon

Gravatar
By in Poland,

It's incredibly exciting... looks like rumours of UCS MF being around 7500pcs were true, considering this huge box.

Just think of how long and satisfying the build will be... and then, the "problem" where to put this monster... moaning wife, enthusiastic guests...

I'll buy it even if it's the last thing I ever buy! Amen.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Lego named the image in their press release "what a piece of junk!.jpg"
See for yourself by saving the 'box and bus' image at the top of this article.
You really don't need anymore clues than that to know it is a new UCS Falcon.
Set number is 75192. This set was originally announced on 1st April 17, but people assumed Lego was playing an April Fools.
The set will be officially revealed on Force Friday and be on sale 1st October 17.
Oh yeah one final thing the TLJ 'old' Luke minifigure will be in this set.
Why else do think this figure was conspicuously missing from the first wave of TLJ sets?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I bet the guy who had the bright idea to wrap it in paper is in trouble! 'If we wrap it in paper, no one will know what it is'.
Nice try Lego! I think you underestimated the abilities of photo editors and your fans

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

> Why else do think this figure was conspicuously missing from the first wave of TLJ sets?

Probably to avoid spoilers for the movie. Including him with a specific first wave set might give away a major spoiler.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

What set were they going to put luke in anyway? How about Luke, Rey, and a rock? Oh and don't forget the lightsaber, and staring faces

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

It would be awesome if it is a.....
UCS Millenium falcon MADE WITH TECHNIC PARTS

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

Lego named the image in their press release "DGJ-a9OUIAA-wyf.jpg".

On Brickset it became "what a piece of junk!.jpg"

Gravatar
By in Australia,

YEAH, This has me all excited!

Interestingly the enhanced picture on the reddit Lego page suggests an outline of the cocpit, and one or two of those round pits.

And then when you look at it, the picture of the MF only takes up to like 3/5 of the top half of the box, people are suggesting another ship in this set as well, or a station setting like Cloud City.

OT:
Now this would definitely be the most commented Brickset article ever!

Gravatar
By in France,

They'd better sell 5000 UCS MF at 500€... Or 10000 at 300€? And much more fans happy to see their dream come true... I wonder what eventually really matters for them...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

"do we think they used the double decker bus for comparison because it's one of the largest boxes they've used lately"

Not sure about denmark/elsewhere, but in the UK, it's common to refer to 'big' things in multiples of something known to be big. Elephants, Football Fields, Olympic Swimming Pools. But in the UK, 'double decker buses' is commonly used ... 'it's the size of 4 double decker buses' - so like to think their usage of the bus was in part a nod to that :)

Gravatar
By in Norway,

UCS LEGO House :D

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Wow, this box is like a Rorschach test for AFOLs... I'm hoping it's the Falcon, if only because people will be tapped out for Lego money once the Saturn V returns and I'll actually have a chance of getting that set...

Gravatar
By in United States,

If it's a rerelease of the MF I think I'm done with Lego SW UCS, which is fine. We had a good 16 years.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

"I have seen things you people wouldn't believe...."

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

"DGJ-a9OUIAA-wyf.jpg".
That OUI intrigues me, maybe a new eiffel tower! ;-p

By in Norway,

Hope it's not a UCS MF.., it's just a pile of bricks in 50 shades of gray.. -boooring. And how many MF do you need afterall? ;) No, I'm not ironic. Hope it's a gigantic skyscraper!!

By in United Kingdom,

Its a bigger London bus.

By in United Kingdom,

Who is now refreshing the Lego Twitter and Brickset every hour in the wait for the reveal? (Totally not me... *coughs loudly*)

Gravatar
By in Poland,

It is 75192 Millenium Falcon.
RRP 779 EUR

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I just thought - If it is the MF, then i reckon the shoretrooper collectable minifig will be the free gift at that time

Gravatar
By in United States,

It's a UCS BrickHeadz...and everyone will be disappointed. ;)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Its definitely a UCS Galidor set!

By in United States,

I've seen a few mentions of it possibly being the LEGO House in Billund. Just to add fuel to that fire, seeing the title of the article saying "Something BIG is approaching", looking at the clues of the word big spelled in all caps as 'BIG' makes me think of the architecture firm that designed the LEGO House; Bjarke Ingels Group, otherwise simply known as 'BIG'. It could just be my own wish, as an architect who has collected every architecture set (including the small release of the LEGO House {4000010}), I have been waiting for a large release of this project, and it HAS to be coming at some point.

By in United Kingdom,

Its easy enough to find the up-side-down Lego logo using image manipulation software but anything else I can find just looks like wishful thinking to make it into anything in particular.
Now I see it.....meh!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Through several previous posts on various forums, the following has been stated for the UCS MF...

October 1st release
Special packaging
Biggest Lego set to date

Unless Lego are having us all on, it is safe to say this is IT...

By in United States,

Not only can you see the cockpit, but the two holes in the right mandible are also visible next to the LEGO logo on the paper wrapping. It's definitely the Falcon.

By in Denmark,

"ALL YOUR PURSES ARE BELONG TO US!" :)

By in Netherlands,

Feels like a real blunder to have to the real thing under the cloth, instead of a fake white box placeholder.

By in United Kingdom,

@Matthew Jam,

Just sell your newborn into slavery. Should be enough to cover this LEGO set.

(Some people! You have to tell them everything.)

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Top tip : sell your blood.

If you can strike a decent deal then you should be able to fund a UCS MF from just one body's worth of life juice (http://abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=117431&page=1).

Alternatively, 1 Neymar = 275,000 UCS MFs (approximately). Or one MF set for every single Brickset member and enough left over to buy .... oooohhh, I dunno .... Belgium?

Sorted.

By in United Kingdom,

I was just thinking... If I got this set from the Leicester Square Lego Store (which is effectively my closest in terms of transport time), how would I fit this inconspicuously onto the tube? It'll have to be a [email protected] order, but not with Yodel! My Death Star almost got sent back to TLG when I selected the free shipping option and Yodel proceeded to try and deliver to an office address closed at 8pm. Just a side note as these things seem very relevant to a situation such as this!

Back on the full topic, I've done some more tweaking and can definitely make out the right hand profile of the Millenium Falcon, from the mandible past the cockpit and over near to the rear. It does however seem there may be some form of scenery with it in the bottom corner of the box, though this could just be inset images of the interior or dimensions. Unfortunately we have to wait for any more - the paper wrapping becomes just too obstructive beyond the the initial corner.

By in United States,

@dougts I know that there have been other UCS styled Batmobiles... I just want more of them.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

***SPOILER ALERT*** it's official, I have various contacts within the Lego group, they got in touch today I and can confirm that it is actually a UCS Jack Stone set!!!

By in United States,

Scala makes its long awaited return!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I'm just thinking out loud here... Maybe it's a creator expert set to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Ferrari! Maybe speed champions will go d2c and release every Ferrari model?

Gravatar
By in Austria,

I'd be happy to see the details of this set but most likely I'll not spend that amount of money for a toy that sits on the display, collecting dust (or not depending on shelf options). And I guess no one will break up this set for other purposes.

If this is 'just' a re-make of the 10179 + some improvement, in the approach with the 'new' Death Star, will anyone be disappointed? :)

Gravatar
By in Ukraine,

I'm disappointed that it is SW set, which is not interesting for me at all.
I wish they would better re-release 'Emerald night' or one of old classic trains rather than this mountain of different shades of grey bricks.

But my wallet is very happy with these news :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@Zander - Why didn't I think of that!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Dont care whats inside, i want it I LOVE LEGO !!!!!

Gravatar
By in Austria,

I'm still wondering why many of you think it's a MF, I have wasted my 1 hour today trying to see the photoshop picture from other forums, and failed to see a MF in it. It looks more like an interior of some buildings. Okay I'll wait patiently for the answer to reveal.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Depending on how much you tinker with the image, you can see almost anything. From parts of the MF, Leia, a Deathstar, some interior of whatever, right up to the Loch Ness monster or the aliens from Area 51. Guess we will have to wait till September after all ;-)

Gravatar
By in Germany,

The Lego House rumor is done.... Servers will crash more badly then start of steam summer and winter sale combined, when a new UCS MF will be available for order :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

If it going to be like the Death Star where it went from $400USD to $500 with just a few pieces changed and new MF's, then it's an easy pass for me. But, if indeed, it it 2000+ more pieces, and interior....well, I might as well just take my wallet out back and shoot it now. Put it out of it's misery.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

It's THE big 40th anniversary Technicolor model.... UCS MF

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'd imagine the box is shaped like that for more efficient shelf space. I can't imagine there would be many of these (whatever it is) on a shelf at once, so it probably made more sense to use space depth wise, rather than having a 4' by 3' box.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Interesting reading all the comments. For fun, I made a detailed image analysis myself:
mysterybigbox.blogspot.com

As for why they chose to compare it to the London bus, my guess is, it's simply because that was the last released large set.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

^ audiobean isn't the idea of LEGO that you break them up. Every set is a parts pack for me.

Gravatar
By in United States,

There are a lot more listings on eBay for 10179 than usual since Lego made this announcement... tells me 2 things:

1. The profiteers/investors are trying to cash out before the market crumbles for the original set. And they are trying to move them at prices lower than recent months. Even though the price is still excruciatingly high, it does represent a savings for buyers who want to own the original.

2. If this Lego announcement *isn't* a new UCS MF, then now is the time to jump on 10179 before the current inventory dries up and the market rebounds.

Risky chicken!!

Gravatar
By in France,

I have heard that it is the Millennium Falcon too, but that it will be able to be converted from the Star Wars version to the more recent The Force Awakens. It will contain all minifgures from both generations. Has anyone else heard that yet?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Wow! A new big set? This sounds exiting... I hope that it's a new millillian falcon, the original Minifigure scale one was amazing! :D

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Lego must be loving this at our expense :)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Am disappointed if it's the Falcon but then I'm one of the lucky ones who got it first time round (at 40% off from a LEGO employee friend too). I'm still holding out for a UCS AT-AT, any time you're ready LEGO, especially if they are in Ep 8 surely it makes sense to re-do the original in UCS size?
