Christmas Build-Up: Day 17

Posted by ,

I have very much enjoyed the past few days of this set, and wonder where it could possibly go next, with just a week to go. Fun, or fail? Time to build!

And the answer is fun, as we have a wreath with candles in it. This type of assembly is common around Christmastime as a decoration.

Ideally, it could also represent the crown worn for Saint Lucia’s Day, which is a Christian advent holiday celebrated on December 13th every year. Of course, this model is a bit late for that, but it’s the thought that counts!

Not to mention, the day has Scandinavian roots - and of course, the Scandinavian country of Denmark is the home of The LEGO Group!

I am very pleased with the minimalist approach, as the model consists of just seventeen pieces. A nice detail that pops out are the yellow ‘claws’ for candle flames.

Overall - 5.0 - a small but sweet model, with an appealing selection of parts and even some hidden significance!

Wow, I totally didn't get that the yellow claw pieces were meant to be flames.

I thought it's a set of advent candles, you light one every Sunday in the run up to Christmas.

^ Yep, most certainly an advent wreath

It would make a great advent wreath if the purple candle was present.

That green wreath is a sad wreath color for the holidays, and the “flames” are mighty laughable.

Had this been in the SW calendar I would have thought this was a festive Sarlac.

But I now see this as an Advent Wreath with candles.

^totally my first thought too. A holiday Sarlacc Pit LOL

I think it is an Advent Wreath with the four candles. The “flames” are being blown by a slight breeze, hence the curved look ;)
