Christmas Build-Up: Day 20
Posted by TheBrickPal,Yesterday was absolutely awful, especially being so far into the process of this set. That’s why I am even more thankful for today’s incredibly satisfying model.
This mug of hot cocoa is marvelous, with some SNOT techniques for the mug itself, a... well, ‘handle’ for the handle, and filled to the brim with warm, chocolatey liquid brick. The red plates around the perimeter give a greatly-appreciated approximation of roundness.
I also find the dose of whipped cream on top to be a particularly ‘sweet’ addition.
Overall - 5.0 - winter appropriate AND a good use of parts. I love it!

I asssumed it was steam, but wipped cream is alright too!
It is a BrickHead of a chocolate cup!! :D
Okay, that is seriously cute. Let's forgive them for the bat penguin owl thing.
RIP HedgehogBear--we hardly knew you
I also thought steam, and thought coffee. It’s rather tall; the proportions are odd.
I'm so completely uninspired by any of the last few days models that I have not bothered trying to build them.
The Lamp post and Lighthouse are safe for another day. :)
Only when I was building it, I realized this was a mug of cocoa...
Or a Penguin, you never know!
I see an orange mug, and you say it's a red one . . .
^ It’s red. :-)
To all those saying the whipped cream is steam or the liquid is coffee - they’re whatever you want them to be!
I think that is the idea of these sets - I would be suprised if the designers didn't have these discussions whilst they were working on the set!
^except for yesterdays designer. He was immediately fired ;)
I am glad it was a short trip down the rabbit hole and we are back to better models again. I like this mug. Hot chocolate for me and even though I thought steam at first I like the whipped cream idea better or even little marshmallows. Also, this build is the ever present red mug in many LEGO sets :)
