Star Wars Advent Calendar - Day 7
Posted by CapnRex101,
Our second item based upon the Sequel Trilogy arrived yesterday and another such item would be superb today, given their inevitable absence from Star Wars Advent Calendars.
Hopefully the high standard will continue...
Sith Troopers are deployed en masse during Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker so another of these striking soldiers is certainly welcome. The same minifigure has previously appeared in 75256 Kylo Ren's Shuttle and 75266 Sith Troopers Battle Pack and they include impressive detail, especially across the helmet which features authentic striations.
The helmet shape lacks the dramatic angles of its onscreen counterpart, returning from First Order Stormtroopers. The decoration seems effective though, matching that on the torso and legs. Once again, distinctive ridges cover each piece and the black highlights correspond with the Sith Troopers that appear during the film, most notably below the angular knee armour.
Removing the helmet reveals a typical Clone Trooper head which is potentially making its final appearance here, given the introduction of more varied designs for Stormtroopers during the summer of this year. A standard blaster rifle is included as well, suggesting that we can enjoy another Star Wars Advent Calendar without any weapon racks!
Overall - 4.5 - Minifigures for army building are always ideal for Advent Calendars, especially when they are not ubiquitous throughout the Star Wars theme.

Given these guys are relatively rare in Star Wars sets I'm more than happy to get one here.
First time I’ve gotten one of these because wasn’t too fond on the battle pack because of those jet troopers, so very pleased to get one here. If this standard is kept, then it might well be the best SW calendar so far.
The fact that only one came in the battle pack, I'm glad they threw one in here.
Eh, that battle pack has been very easy to get, and it came with a cery respectable build for a battle pack. This is a waste, especially when that battle pack will be a good stocking stuffer for the Star Wars fan this year.
*sequel content*
I sleep.
Aaaaaaaaangry clooooooone....
This was a reason not to get this calendar for me. I just want to erase PoS from my memory...
Nice red compliment for Christmas.
Extremely happy with this minifig. It’s my first Sith Trooper and I love the detail. That’s a 5 for me.

Yeah, that battle pack would have been better with 2 Sith troopers and 1 Sith jet trooper.
For those who aren't fans of the sequel trilogy, just imagine him to be a festive stormtrooper instead :)
Great to find this guy in there. Actually made me decide to get the battle pack after all - that one only had one Sith Trooper which I can't do much with, but put two together (and possibly the jet troopers) and that's a great afternoon for my Star Wars RPG group.
Shame that sequel haters feel the need to still nag about it in the comments. Great to see that most people are happy to get a Sith Trooper in the advent calendar.

I literally told my wife this morning "Look, a Christmas Trooper!" - she only has a passing interest in Star Wars so she didn't even realise I was making a joke.
@ecleme11:
It still has the Ducktrooper helmet, so...
First one for me! Nice addition...plus it's a "holiday colour"!!!
I hear the name "Sith Trooper" and see red armour, I still think of these guys: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/f/f6/SithCommando.jpg rather than anything from the movies.
I honestly don't even remember the movie variety of Sith Troopers doing anything significant in Rise of Skywalker, though I might be misremembering... so much stuff *happened* in that movie that I'm sure I only took in about half of it, maximum xD
Nice looking minifigure though, regardless!
If you want to increase your Sith troopers further Argos are currently doing a 2 for £15 for the 75266 (RRP £13), i.e. 8 figures plus 2 speeders.
Excellent. This is what the army building component of the Advent Calendar minifigs should look like.
Good riddance, Angry Clone. May you never darken our doors again.
Already have two of them if my memory is good, but such good minifigs are always welcome. Neat and crisp prints on torso, legs, and that helmet is among my favorites.
Even if I forgot that they existed, the figure is nice I guess
Say what you want about the film, it's a cracking armour design.
Terrific figure, and quite rare as well.

Thanks for the heads up, I’ve just put an order in!
Prior to this I only had one of these minifigures so this is a most welcome addition! My complements to all those involved in this year's Advent calendar as it is truly outstanding. I would even tolerate a weapons rack should it come!!
My son asked if these blasters were only in Star Wars sets. We looked it up and they are...the small blaster too.
Are these shapes copyrighted for use only in Star Wars sets?
I accidently opened day 8 instead so doing this one tomorrow
I like the festive stormtrooper! So red!
I'll take a bunch of these over those ugly Battle Droids any day. Wish they would have gotten over that one first though. I dread the day it makes it's appearance this year.
Frankly, I can't stand this sequel trilogy stuff anymore. It constantly reminds me of badly written plots and characters. I will tell my wife it's a christmas trooper, too. Maybe I will make a little festive wreath to go with it.
Ok, as for the film's, I will state that I am not a fan of the sequel trilogy. That said, I can say that I was very glad to get one of these in my calendar. Unlike some of the whiners above, I like getting characters bundled into sets that I am not a fan of. Why? They make the collection that much more complete and better balanced. Besides, who else do you display in precarious situations with one or three characters being the "fall guy" in your display. I always use the guys I DONT like, so I can laugh at them as they fall.
@CCC:
I'm sure Deadpool Duck would respond with some quip about the Ducktrooper being smart for wearing red everything.
@p3co:
There are three guns that are based specifically on various weapons that appear in the original SW trilogy. The irony is that those guns were originally built on surplus WWII weapons, like the German "broomhandle" Mauser (Han's pistol) and the British Sten submachine gun (basic Stormtrooper rifle). So part of the reason they may be limited to the SW theme is that they represent modern real-world weapons that The LEGO Company wouldn't want included in non-SW themes.
This is a nicely detailed figure, although I decided to restrict myself from collecting any sequel trilogy stuff, just because I have to draw the line somewhere. Of course, I didn't like Rise of Skywalker anyway and these dudes were only designed to look cool in the marketing material, so no big loss.

It's the only sequel I'll watch again. Hilarious parody of Star Wars. So ridiculous and over the top, I couldn't stop laughing!
