Marvel Advent Calendar - Day 3
Posted by CapnRex101,Following the inevitable disappointment of the Power Blast accessories yesterday, presumably something more interesting will emerge on day three.
Read on and find out what appears next...
This model was evidently inspired by the armour displays in 76125 Iron Man Hall of Armour and 76167 Iron Man Armoury, featuring the same colour scheme of light bluish grey, sand blue and trans-light blue. I appreciate that consistency, although this section includes pearl silver 1x2 grille slopes rather than metallic silver elements. The pearl silver version is relatively uncommon though, only appearing in two other sets.
An attractive wreath decorates the armour display, elevated on a 4L bar. The wreath certainly appears out of place, but the effort to introduce some seasonal theming is welcome. Also, this assembly avoids interfering with minifigures placed on the vacant studs at the front, fortunately.
Overall - 4.0 - The consistency between this armour display and those which have come before is impressive, while the effort to reference the season is fun.

I was so happy to open this, this morning, and see that it was an actual build (and kind of a complex one).
At least it wasn't a super-jumper. I was briefly concerned.
But no, I loved the pearl silver slopes, and the fact it has connection-points on either side gives me a little bit of hope that there will be other mini-builds to connect it to, going forward.
Is the idea that the wreath has a little repulsor on it? That's kind of fun.
Definite improvement over yesterday with the first minibuild, and a festive one at that. It certainly looks like it is connects to a potential future build.
I clipped my Iron Man with the power blasts on his feet, to the side clip of this one and put some blasts in his hands. It's all stable, so I am happy with this on Day 3.
Hey, someone nailed Ironman’s berries to a wreath.
I like that Christmas Iron Man has his own space in the hall of armour now. Pity it's not an entire module though.
Enjoyed this build, although can’t help but feel if you don’t have the Hall of Armour sets this is a little redundant
True, but it is a system they have committed two full sets to at least.
Mine has joined my hall, and taken the figure with it. Which unfortunately just leaves a pile of blast effects with the calender, which is not a good look at all!

I did the same thing.
4.0 is very generous. Unless we're marking out of 10 today.

Funnily enough that's exactly the same reason my son and I like it :)
He took out the 3D printer module and swapped it to this rather than just adding it. Not sure why.
I like how the wreath is mounted on a transparent blue bar, giving the impression it’s supported by a beam of energy.
Leave it to Tony to bring Christmas decorations into the future.

So you don't like it when sets of the same theme match?
>Walks out to rethink his take on the whole LEGO concept<
IKR? I thought it was quite nice that they made it compatible with the two previous sets. I can add it to my HoA, but it is also complete enough to be a stand alone decorative piece for the calendar.
Next thing you know it will be frowned upon to use figures from one set with another set. How dare we.
Wasn’t quite sure what this was supposed to be at first, but I appreciate all the Hall of armor explanations. I also really like the ideas given for clipping Tony to it with some of the power blasts. I really like when you can combine and integrate multiple days in the calendars.
