Marvel Advent Calendar - Day 15

Posted by ,

Dum-E belongs among my favourite items from the Marvel Advent Calendar, although this does not guarantee prolonged quality as subsequent models emerge.

However, I hope the high standard continues...

Captain Marvel has appeared in various guises, inspired by comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, throughout the Marvel Super Heroes range. This minifigure features her bright blue uniform which has appeared in two previous sets, along with a magazine gift during 2020. Excluding that magazine gift, the minifigure therefore remains fairly uncommon.

The blonde hair component looks good for Captain Marvel and I like her bright colour scheme, especially with metallic gold accents across the torso. Impressive detail continues on the legs, while this double-sided head originates with Princess Leia but appears similarly effective here. Two smiling expressions are present, but Captain Marvel's helmet is not included, unfortunately.

Bizarrely, this minifigure features two white Power Blasts, rather than her usual trans-orange accessories. These elements seem more appropriate for Spider-Man and the trans-orange version must still be in production, having appeared elsewhere during 2021.

Overall - 4.0 - While her accessories are odd, another opportunity to acquire Captain Marvel is welcome.

The solid white power blast accessories threw me at first as well, but I believe they are meant to represent snowballs, for a festive snowball fight!

Another minifig I didn't have before. The detailing on her is fantastic, she looks great, especially that sash printing going between the torso and hips. Very happy with Captain Marvel!

Kinda funny that we all reasoned the dark blue and red present from the other day must be for her, since they're her colours, but when she shows up she's in regular blue

The white power blasts are snowballs.

I prefer his red costume, with the lightning bolt and white half-cape.

She's shooting snowballs because she's really into the holiday spirit.

Yup, I absolutely thought "snowballs" the second I saw those white power blasts. Great little touch!

A great addition to the Marvel minifigs! I do not have any of the other sets that contained her, so this is definitely a good day for me.

Captain Marvel needs to head over to the Star Wars AC and teach them how it is possible to arm the minifigs instead of wasting a quarter of the slots on doing so. She is already prepared for the snowball fight.

Good point regarding the snowballs, everyone! I completely associate those elements with Spider-Man, so snowballs did not occur to me.

Another great minifigure. So happy to have this one and Black Widow now.

She wasn't on the box art so having her as a minifig in the calendar was a pleasant and complete surprise to me.
