Harry Potter Advent Calendar - Day 3
Posted by CapnRex101,
Given doors one and two both display the famed Philosopher's Stone, it appears this calendar will follow chronological order, beginning with items from the first film.
Maybe our first minifigure will arrive today...
Harry Potter makes his inevitable appearance on day three. This minifigure is identical to that in 76389 Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets, although its components are much more common, which is disappointing given the selection of exclusive minifigures found in past Harry Potter Advent Calendars.
Nevertheless, Harry's robes are nicely detailed and his double-sided head is splendid, featuring fittingly happy and frightened expressions for the events of The Philosopher's Stone. The untidy hair element looks superb too, but I cannot help thinking LEGO could have provided something festive instead. Harry's dark green jumper, shown when Hermione departs before Christmas in The Philosopher's Stone, would have been ideal.
As always, Harry includes a dark brown wand. The minifigure also stands on a tan 2x4 plate, so corresponds with Ollivander's and the Quidditch goalposts from days one and two.
Overall - Something new would be preferable, of course, but this minifigure is well-executed.

USA! USA! USA! USA!
The use of a tan 2x4 plate here renders the use of twin 2x2 plates in the previous two builds both incomprehensible and infuriating, assuming there isn’t any aspect of the game that requires them.
@CapnRex101:
They’ve already made Sweater Harry in the first HPAC. Last year gave us Harry in his hand-me-downs, so really the only two Year 1 outfits that they have left are Unsorted Harry and Quidditch Harry. Blame Chris Columbus for keeping them in their school uniforms for the entire film.

Harry's initialed Christmas jumper appeared in the 2019 Advent Calendar, but I was referring to his cable-knit jumper from another scene immediately before Christmas, when Harry and Ron are playing Wizard's Chess. In fact, Hermione appeared in the 2019 Advent Calendar wearing her scarf from that scene, but those versions of Harry and Ron have not been produced.
@CapnRex101:
Ah, I thought they were wearing those sweaters in that scene. I did catch that Hermione’s scarf is from when she heads home, because people were complaining that she didn’t have a matching festive outfit, and that Harry & Ron were also wearing sweaters. Given Harry’s pre-film wardrobe, it just made sense that the H sweater was the only non-uniform outfit he had available to wear.
Good one for me as i'm not into the newer Hogwarts sets that it originally comes from so i can add another minifigure without buying the set, but yes it would be nice to have got a christmas jumper Harry.
I love this "3 items from 1 movie" concept. I don't know what game you can play with them, I am just curious, what will represent each movies. Day 1 is okay, day 2 and 3 are too generic though.
"Yer a minifiger Harrey"

Ugh, no one wanted to defend the trailing offensive player. So sad!
Not unlike this iteration of HP. Trully a missed opportunity. Usually, HP does a better advent. Bleh and blah.
Judging by each film having three doors but only two spots on the game board thing, I’m guessing that’s two builds and one minifig each
@Yooha:
Year 1 is when he first played Quidditch (and even when he first learned it was a thing). From Year 3 on, robes were rarely seen in the movies, and from Year 4 on, so were uniforms in general.
@Brickalili:
I do remember noting a specific pattern to the colored bases when these were first revealed several months ago. I can’t remember if I realized they matched up with specific movies or not, but I’m also not sure I identified every mini model at the time.. Certainly the glyphs on the doors confirm each color ties to a specific film, and we’re going to open all of them in chronological order.
I think the minifig should have been Quidditch Harry as that would go with the goalposts. The version with the scarf from the Hedwig set would have been good too.
