Harry Potter Advent Calendar - Day 6
Posted by CapnRex101,
Two models and a minifigure, originating from The Philosopher's Stone, appeared during the first three days of 76404 Harry Potter Advent Calendar.
Assuming the pattern continues today, another minifigure seems likely...
Moaning Myrtle is introduced during The Chamber of Secrets, having fallen victim to the mighty Basilisk when the chamber last opened. This is Myrtle's second minifigure portrayal, wearing an updated dark bluish grey uniform, rather than the sand blue of her Collectable Minifigure. I liked the previous iteration, but would acknowledge that drab dark bluish grey is perhaps even better.
Unfortunately, this minifigure lacks decorated legs, but does include an exclusive double-sided head. Myrtle's cunning smile looks perfect and her tearful expression is equally appropriate, for different scenes. The black hair piece also corresponds with the onscreen character, replacing a dark blue element from the prior Moaning Myrtle minifigure.
No accessories are included, which feels like a missed opportunity to reintroduce Tom Riddle's diary. Myrtle does stand on a sand green 2x4 plate though, matching the two earlier items from The Chamber of Secrets.
Overall - Despite lacking an accessory or printed legs, an updated version of Moaning Myrtle is very welcome.

I thought my phone screen was acting up.
Myrtle looks pretty good for someone who's just crawled out of a toilet.
Great to see some actually exclusive figures today!

And getting hit with a book.
Is it just my screen or does her leg color not actually match her torso piece? My kids opened this one this morning and I didn’t check closely if this is the same on mine but I can really tell a difference in these images.
Torso and legs mismatched on my phone also. Torso seems much more blue.
Can they print on the medium legs?
Given that Myrtle was only available as a CMF for a few months, this is actually a welcome addition. If they could ever release a third Hogwarts ghost minifig (Peeves doesn’t count), you could even reenact A Christmas Carol with Voldemort. Or Snape. Or Malfoy. Really, just a lot of characters across all eight movies.
Pretty messed up that Hogwarts HR just allows a ghost to spy on underage students bathing and using the restroom.
I had a spare grey lego round and minifig stand from a couple of days ago... I'm going to make her fly.

Yep. See 71028-14.

Hey, we've all been there.
The colour match between torso and legs looks terrible, I'm surprised CapnRex didn't comment on it.

Thanks, that is indeed a shame then that this version doesn't have the print.
@Rumble_Strike:
Within limits. Sides are easy. Front of toes and hips have been done. Right on the shin above the toe, on top of the toe, or on the back, inner side, sole, or interior are all right out. Pretty much the same as regular legs, but with a smaller target.
@WemWem:
Yeah, well, they’re incorporeal ghosts. Who ya gonna call?
@Zoniax:
I can honestly say I’ve never crawled out of a toilet, nor expressed attraction to someone else who had just done so.

I have and I have. Holding someone's hair while they take care of business is a hero's job.

I pulled mine out and had to go to 3 different light sources to really distinguish the color difference. But, it is there, just not nearly as bad as shown in Rex's pics.

You, my friend... have not lived.
Do not despair: there is still time.

All is fair in love and war.
Although, come to think about it, since the Geneva Convention only the former may still apply.
This has been the most unique and interesting AC yet. The microbuilds are super quirky but they totally work. Who would ever think about doing a micro version of Ollivander's? I like the whole three-day per movie thing. Yeah, it's kind of predictable as to what might be coming next but I am really enjoying it. I'm looking forward to seeing how the whole game thing is supposed to work once everything is opened.
Thought the Moaning Myrtle figure was great, rubber hair not withstanding.
Can't wait to see what is coming next (trying to not look at the front side of the box!).
@MandalorianCandidate:
Those who have been paying close attention might have figured out the pattern of release by now, even if they've never seen the full contents back when the calendars were announced several months ago. However the game works this year, there shouldn't be a Sorting Dreidel this time.
