Following the teaser video last week, LEGO has today announced five new Animal Crossing sets, which will be released on the 1st of March 2024. The press release follows:

Today, the LEGO Group reveals brand-new LEGO Animal Crossing sets, inspired by the popular video game series from Nintendo.

Millions of people have found their happy place while playing Animal Crossing. Now for the first time, that world is coming to LEGO brick form.

The five new play experiences, created in partnership with Nintendo, allow LEGO builders to explore the world and characters from the video games, and play out different stories in the brick-built landscape.

The sets have been developed to fit together easily and offer a high level of customisation. For instance, it’s possible to switch elements between buildings – including the window frames - with one simple click. All sets can be adapted, mixed, and changed, enabling builders to create their own worlds and make the settings unique to them.

Builders aged 6+ can get creative and imaginative by bringing their favourite scenes and characters to life in the physical world with LEGO Animal Crossing. The new range will include build experiences such as:

Julian’s Birthday Party, where builders can celebrate with Julian, share cupcakes, and open presents.

77046-1

Bunnie’s Outdoor Activities allows enthusiasts of the great outdoors to roleplay setting up a tent, roasting marshmallows or using the vaulting pole to jump across the water, and grab the shovel or other recognizable tools from the video game series.

77047-1

Kapp’n’s Island Boat Tour gives fans the opportunity to board the boat and explore another island with Kapp’n and Marshal, go on an adventure to search for coconuts and bamboo, discover wildlife, hermit crabs, and fish or simply hang out and enjoy the fire.

77048-1

Isabelle’s House Visit allows builders to get creative and help Isabelle and Fauna customize Fauna's house and enjoy activities like opening the balloon present, crafting tools, or picking fruits and flowers.

77049-1

Nook’s Cranny & Rosie’s House gives builders two locations where they can roleplay stocking up Nook's Cranny shop or go to Rosie’s house for freshly baked cookies.

77050-1

“To us, Animal Crossing is all about creativity and roleplay, so bringing that to life in physical form using LEGO bricks and creating new minifigures has been fun for the team” said Simon Kent, Creative Lead, Design Director at the LEGO Group. “One of the challenges was to make sure that customisation of the sets was simple so builders could experience the freedom they have in the game. Additionally, creating the minifigures to make sure they were accurately representing the characters in the video games was very important for us. We look forward to giving kids the opportunity to play with their favourite characters from Animal Crossing!”

“The Animal Crossing video game series is about creating a world where you freely build the life you want, and now with LEGO bricks, you can build that world with your own hands in the real world too” said Aya Kyogoku, Game Producer of Nintendo Co., Ltd. “Putting the sets together is only the beginning. Kids can use the furniture, plants, and more, included with each set, to customise them or even combine multiple sets to create their own village. There are so many different ways kids will be able to express their creativity based on what they like, which can evolve as they grow. We hope that the world of Animal Crossing and its characters, now also in the form of LEGO bricks, can bring smiles to people's faces by being a part of their day-to-day lives.”

Since its first release in 2001, Animal Crossing continues to be one of the most popular franchises on Nintendo platforms.

The new LEGO Animal Crossing sets will be available globally via LEGO Stores, all retailers and on www.LEGO.com from March 1st, 2024.

Animal Crossing: Fabuland’s Revenge.

Gravatar
By in United States,

You can call it whatever you want - It's still looks like Fabuland to me! (Especially the last two sets' buildings!)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

How do minifigures with little legs reach the pedals on the bicycle?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Switching elements between sets with one simple click? Wow, that really throws shade on those automatic garage doors the other day!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

They look cute, but they also look a bit shallow to be honest, I was hoping for a more complete type of set, one that opens and closes on hinges.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

Damn, I want them all…

Gravatar
By in Australia,

So this Chima revamp has no giant robots or fighting?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

These all look excellent!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Pretty underwhelming for what the prices are supposed to be. Lovely minifigs, though!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I never thought we'd get a Fabuland Revival! :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Amazing. Was wondering where this would be targeted, 6+ makes a lot of sense and I think this nails that age range's abilities perfectly

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Oh these look great! The arch windows and the newer doors, the bag of bells. A couple of K.K. Slider pictures so he'll hopefully come along sooner rather than later too.
Those tree stump pieces are nice as well.

Gravatar
By in United States,

A little underwhelming to me but I will still wind up buying all of them. I hope this isn’t going to be a one-off, 5 sets and that’s it. Please no. There’s a lot LEGO could do with this series. More animals (Raymond, Katt, Sylvanna) and a changeable villager character. I hope they make a toy box set like they did with Minecraft.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Hoping my favourite villagers get minifigs someday.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

These look lovely. Crops watered, skin cleansed, harvest bountiful

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oooh yes, love these - very simple builds granted, but they do exactly what they need to and then some. Easy day one for me!

Also surprised by how... not pricey this lot is? The most expensive set at 65 quid (and the majority of em being under 35) feels like a small miracle considering how most themes seem to be going for the opposite end of the scale at the mo!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Pity there are no peaches or pears fort the trees.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Disappointed in these. As I feared, they lean more into the style of the Mario sets (grimaced seeing those base plates again).

If kids enjoy the play possibilities with them, I suppose it’s all good. As with the other Nintendo stuff so far, perhaps there will be meatier builds later on.

By in France,

Ooooh this is super cute

Gravatar
By in United States,

safe to say these are all day one, I don't care about the $200 total price. animal crossing is my favorite thing ever. the only flaw is no villigar Minifigure, other than that, perfect first wave, a variety or prices, characters and locations.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Having barely played Animal Crossing... do the environments (not the figures) closely correspond to places / objects in Animal Crossing? All of it is super cute, but seems kind of generic.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Cute! Not for me, but these are well done.

Gravatar
By in Austria,

Childish looking sets for a childish game. Seems they nailed it to me.
I have zero interest in this, but I'm sure children will probably like it a lot.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Very charming. The figures are as they should be. The builds have good amount of details and lots of accessories for play. Some interesting new parts. No stickers? The pricier sets don't have much volume of stuff to them, but otherwise the generally low prices makes it possible to buy multiple sets and actually build your village. Hermit crab is back.

This is great. I'm not an Animal Crossing fan but I'm likely getting some of these.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

These sets are super yummy! The only one i’m not really sure of is Julians bday party.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Isabelle's House Visit is my absolute favourite! I also like the look of Nook's Cranny.

Okay, that just sounds wrong.

Well in the games you can’t ride the bikes either, so no harm done here. You just collect stuff and do nothing with it :-D

Gravatar
By in Austria,

Never played Animal Crossing. What's the significance of the loose windows?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Fabuland 2.0 for sure!!! I know Animal Crossing is a game, and that actually all I know about it. But I’ll be picking a few of them up, they’re just so cute!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The new Fabuland sets are looking pretty good.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Am I the only one that thinks these look cluttered and messy. Still gonna buy them though.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

So awesome! Hopefully they will have some tie-in promotion for us that still play Pocket Camp, whether its in game or a physical promo via their Nintendo rewards system.

Also I would love to see a CMF Series for this line as it would add so much to the series.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Let’s fix those prices:
$14.99
$19.99
$24.99
$39.99
$59.99

Gravatar
By in United States,

These are just adorable. Naturally that sly raccoon dog Tom Nook is in the expensive one!

As nicely done as they are, it would be nice if they had some lower priced buildings rather than outdoor scenes, like the houses and shop but less ornate. More pocket money sets that feature fewer flat tiles. Not that you can't build your own but it would be nice. Hopefully those and a CMF line are on the way.

I am sure there will be at least 1 or 2 mechs that shoot apples or pies, once they run out of cute houses.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

These sets are pretty stingy with figures. The biggest set only has two, should have at least double that I think.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The vibes are charming, but I guess I expected more interesting and complex builds, at least comparable to a typical Friends set. These are far more simplistic than Friends though.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

As they have the unsold figures they should add some of the more interesting creatures from the Vidiyo bandmate series, like the fox, dragon, cat and unicorn.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Soooo… no K.K. Slider?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Okay, not my cup of tea on the theme, but dang these are really nicely designed sets. Can see them possibly flying off the shelves with the fans.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Somehow, Fabuland returned

These plates are great especialy the ones they created later that allow to add own bigger plates

Gravatar
By in United States,

So, exactly where in the Fabuland-to-Chima run does Animal Crossing reside? I’m thinking it predates Fabuland, since the predators haven’t yet risen up to “manage” society.

I already have villager figures, I've made minifigure versions of my whole family, so they're ready to go with this theme.

Brickset posters whose entire exposure to culture is via Lego themes: "I'm getting strong [Lego theme] vibes from this."

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

There is a poo on top of the cupcake in Julian's Birthday Party...

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm not into Animal Crossing, and don't know any gamers who are. I guess we're outside the demographic (too old, too young, too good-looking, something?).

Nevertheless, these look fun. Sad that Mario didn't get this treatment.

Gravatar

...and that's not a bad thing! Next up are sets for Fabuland Wars, Fabulanda Jones, the Fabuland Cinematic Universe, and a Fabuland / Ninjago crossover season.

Yes, I for one welcome our Fabulous animal overlords. Take my hand, let's all head to FABULAND!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've never played Animal Crossing, but these sets are adorable and I just know my kids are going to love them!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Very cute and colorful. Glad I never got into Animal Crossing, so I can save my money for the all-but-announced Baradur set.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I dunno man... I was already lukewarm on the minifigs in the teaser, it looked more like a good Ideas render than anything official, and this...Doesn't really do it for me either. I think they oversimplified it too much. Like, the trees, I get the idea of being able to pick the fruit, but A: that's not how you get fruit in the game, you shake the trees (That are considerably larger than you) and the fruit fall down, and B: These look like wooden toys you would put next to your BRIO wooden train layout, the Trees are way more detailed in game, especially in the newer installments. I get they are making it for 6+, but that just seems inconsiderate on account of the massive adult following the game has. And even still, a lot of the fun in animal crossing is customizing and decking out your house. They did do it on the outside with the admittedly cool doors and windows, but the missing space on the inside has no excuse here: the house interiors in all games are square, and you need that space in my opinion. If you like the sets, I am happy for you, but I would still beg for y'all to wait until these will get discounted...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Is the part used at the base of the tree a new part? It doesn't look at all familiar to me.

No Blathers? No point.

You could hide a unikitty in these and wouldn’t look out of place.

And that piece reminds me of the game Hi Ho Cherry-O, which I don’t think I’ve ever played, but I do have very distinct memories of the tree with all the holes in it.

@Ideenvulkan:
It has been noted that the Mario sets and Sonic sets were based off specific games in their respective series. Before criticizing these sets for not looking like the latest iteration, maybe find out if they’re instead based off an earlier game.

@Ridgeheart:
I’m going with Animal Crossing -> Animal Farm -> Fabuland -> Chima. Nobody seems to have a care in the world, here (heck, Nook and the postal worker are the only two with jobs, right?). The regime is clearly ensconced by Fabuland. And the fan has been well and truly hit by the time Chima takes place.

And I haven't thought of that game in forever. I don't even remember how it's played. XD

While I do agree that I went on a bit of a rant there, I have now checked the fruit trees in every iteration of the game, and I have to revoke my statement from before because the detail actually seems to have gone down as the games progressed, with the first game featuring the trees with the most distinct shape, with five separated leaf sections and a starkly textured trunk as seen in https://nookipedia.com/wiki/Item:Tree_model_%28Animal_Crossing%29

Still, I did not find any iteration of the trees as bare-bones as the LEGO versions. Nevertheless, thanks for encouraging proper research, I agree that is very important for objective criticism.

By in Australia,

A few thinks:

1: I don't think it's fair that this series gets 8 new individual minifigs, all with specially moulded heads, when Sonic only got four and LEFT OUT KNUCKLES! If they could do 8 new moulds and prints for animal crossing with the same amount of sets, surely Lego could have done Shadow, Knuckles and some others.

2: This nintendo partnered wave of sets include minifigures, so this could be a sign that the Super Mario theme could be getting minifigs too! I really hope so! Bennie Bricks makes it sound so good.

3: If Lego has decided to make a theme for another nintendo game, hopefully it won't stop here! We need Lego sets of other nintendo games (SPECIFICALLY ZELDA!) and this is hope that we might get some in the years to come!

@MCLegoboy:
I remember finding the tree in a box of toys at some sort of daycare, or kid-friendly waiting room, that I only remember going to once. No idea why we were there, where it was, or ever playing it. I didn’t even know the name of the game until someone in a comment section was able to identify it by my description. There’s a tree made for Fabuland in sets like 128 that just sparked my memory of that game.

@Ridgeheart:
I meant, in Fabuland, all the predatory species have jobs like doctors, butchers, or cops, allowing them easy access to sick and injured herbivores, a way to quickly process the bodies, and make sure nobody digs too deep into things. In Animal Crossing, there’s Nook with his store, a postal worker, and everyone else is just neighbors with no obvious source of income. No hospitals, no butchers, no police stations (at least not that I recall). It took a few years to get from this idyllic paradise where one whatever-you-play is the sole gatherer of resources, to a point where the carnivores hold every position of authority. And also all the knives.

And I was born in winter.

@Ideenvulkan:
Woah, that tree has some sort of weird leopard-pox! BURN IT!

CMF set for Animal Crossing will make a lot of sense. It'll be like those Animal Crossing Amiibos.

Zelda fans: ...sigh...

Gravatar
By in United States,

These sets really should have gotten revealed in January or February 2024. October 2023 is too early fir a reveal for a theme that releases in March 2024!
Why doesn’t Lego just go ahead and reveal the Star Wars early 2024 waves while there at it…

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

Oh people will adore this.

Gravatar
By in France,

Really looking like a new, modern Fabuland I would say.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Very colourful but I haven't even heard of the game. Personally when I saw the sets I thought Lego was bringing back Fabuland.

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

It looks like Fabuland indeed, but it is really weird. Not weird, the figures are creepy for my eyes.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Surely this is just further evidence that Zelda Lego MUST be coming!

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Fingers crossed for an Ankha minifigure.
