Ace over at FBTB has once again done an excellent job of photographing licensed sets on the LEGO stand at the NY toy fair, including Star Wars, TMNT and The LEGO Movie. I've added straightened-out box art images to the database but I strongly encourage you to head on over to FBTB where you'll find images of every detail of the sets.

The Brick Show team was also at the fair and has started to upload videos to YouTube.

The BrickShow on YouTube have quite a few videos from the toy fair :)
Out of all the themes that they covered on FBTB, I was only interested in the movie sets :P

Anywhere I can find a picture of Darth Vader in the star destroyer without his helmet on?

@gingerlad there's one in the FBTB coverage, where you can see all the Star Destroyer figures including the new Imperial Officer Caps.

I'm chuffed as nuts they're doing another Star Destroyer as I missed out on the last one - but more Hoth stuff? ESB is my favourite film and I love anything Hoth but haven't we just had all this (again) relatively recently? Is this the 5th Lego AT-AT now?

A new Dagobah or Cloud City would have been great.

The episode 3 Star Wars sets that just came out are the best wave they have ever had. A little disappointed with the sets getting released later this year though, this might be good so I won't have to spend as much on lego this year. The Cantina and the Hobbit sets are about the only thing worth buying the rest of the year. Lego really needs to cover the battle of Naboo at the end of episode 1. I also hope that they will do one more wave of Lord of the Rings to get the minifigs they missed and a Minas Tirith.

I think there are so many great sets. Really want the at-at and mos eisley cantina but will have to see how much they are

The Cantina is most probably the only good set to come out of this line, considering we needed a Cantina remake. I am, though, very disappointed in the fact they are changing the overall snow trooper and storm trooper helmets, as they just wouldn't look the same next to the original ones. It is time Lego starts making new ideas, because this is literally just a release of the years 05-07. I also even doubt they changed the AT-AT and Star destroyer from the last model. The snow speeder is also quite nice, compared to the Ghost at least.

Is there any hope for Lord of the Rings comeback in 2015?

Surely looks like an exciting batch of sets from all themes! I cannot wait.

People do go on about re-releases don't they?!

"Oh no, another Star Destroyer, didn't we have one in 2007?!"

My son is young, young enough go have not been around in 2007. He's really getting into Star Wars and LEGO now and loves the big ships and anything to do with Darth Vader. I breathed a sigh of relief with this year's release of the Star Destroyer - it's affordable compared to the re-sale value of the 2007 set on eBay!

LEGO re-release sets as brick elements improve, designs improve and the kids that built the older sets outgrow LEGO and are replaced by younger kids just getting into the hobby - LEGO is for kids first and foremost. AFOLs buy a lot of LEGO but the biggest consumers are the kids which don't stay kids for long!

I agree there are many more vehicles in the Star Wars universe that could be turned into sets, but many are too obscure to be turned into sets, after all, if kids don't recognise it, they won't want it, and that equals a loss of sales to LEGO.

Happy about the Snow Speeder since I don't have one. I think a Cloud Car, Cloud City, maybe a carbonite chamber set or Dagobah set. Not sure about the Sandcrawler. Can't see everything too well but the Banthas look a little weak, maybe it'll look better when we see a better photo of it. http://jediinsider.com/index.php?catid=8&itemid=15174

@primetime, I'm glad they're doing another AT-AT. I've only recently started collecting Episode 4/5/6 crafts and the prices they ask for the older sets are too steep. This way I get another chance and to be honest: the latest iteration of the AT-AT seems leaner and sleeker. I like it more than the older versions.

@77slevin. You know what? You're right. Any AT-AT release is good. A new AT-AT begs some sort of motorised functionality though, as in the walking AT-AT (10178).

Why are people complaining about the new ISD being a rehash? It seems to be a completely new design that improves on the original 2007 in almost every way. More compact, more sturdy, more functional interior and exterior details.

I see a steady decline in ingenuity of Lego star wars sets since 2012. In my opinion many of the 2012 models were stunning in their way of accuracy and design (e.g. the Sith Fury Class, Republic Striker, Pre Vizslas Mandalorian). 2013 brought us some nice sets, but only few were as amazing as 2012s sets (e.g. the Z-95, the Ewok Village). This years collection is a let down: A chunky Ghost, split up in two separate sets, drawn from an obscure animated series no one knew up to now. Well, maybe we'll get accustomed to those ships and characters, maybe not. Then there are these sets from the Yoda Chronicles, made up by Lego entirely. The Jedi Scout Fighter looks good only at first glance, but then it's flaws become apparent: the guns are looking like they came directly from the eighties (or Benny's Spaceship). So no, this years collection is not my cuppa tea. I hope it will be at least a big hit among children. Their parents will be grateful for some of the "reissue"-sets, I think.

These Star Wars sets are very nice! The Cantina has its ups and downs, and that is due to Greedo. His skin colour is a more turquoise colour, but if I am not mistaken, it was taken off The Lego Company's colour palette (?) The lack of arm printing also detracts from the figure, but since I didn't get the 2004 version, well, I think I should stop complaining. The dewback is great, as well as being screen accurate, my only nitpicks are, is that the animal lacks acculturation, in the legs, and the tail. This may make young children query at the thought of having a dewback statue, with the only real function the opening of the mouth. This however, may or may not matter in the perspective of the AFOLs.

I just noticed, one of the Jedi from the Scout Fighter looks like the same one in the original Clone Wars series from 2003. Also, I'm still not even going to touch the ISD unless they have either improved the stability of it, or it has decent figures. Also, why can't we get a MC80 cruiser or Providence cruiser? It seems like they would sell quite well, as they are in the movies, just maybe not as much screen time as the ISD. Yes, I know we have gotten a great Home One, but would it kill Lego to do the exterior?

It's great to have some fantastic looking remakes of SW OT stuff, but I'm not going to be able to afford it all. I'm a little worried that I'm going to want the May the Fourth minifigure this year (still don't know what it is yet). I suppose I can always wait until next year for these, as I've had to do many times.

That said, the Snowspeeder, AT-AT, B-wing, Cantina, and Star Destroyer all look great. I would have liked to see the bartender (Wuher) in the Cantina and perhaps other aliens, but at least you get half the band, which is great!

@Blockland, the ISD seems light years ahead of the last one. It looks like it's pretty solid and built on a Technic frame with the plates attached firmly. If TLG repeated the magnets mistake I'd be amazed, but I'd be even more amazed given that the top plates are attached to the bottom ones with hinges. I don't think you need to worry at all. The figures look pretty good too, bland Imperial officers perhaps, but very well done ones so I'm on board.

As far as I'm concerned though the AT-AT and the Snowspeeder are just the last versions with a few new parts (most noticeably the 3 stud wide plates on the AT-AT's legs). Of course that's fine for those who didn't get them last time round for whatever reason, but that doesn't mean it's not really disappointing for those who did.
And in the case of the Snowspeeder, we've had a 'new' one every three years since 2007 with the latest one only last year (it's probably still on a lot of toy shop shelves) so that one seems a very justifiable gripe. If you've not picked one of those up before where have you been?

By in United States,

@zipsforbananas It may just be me, but the ISD from 2007 was just awful. I guess I could blame the fact I pretty much had to rebuild it about 4 times by now, and every time it gets less stable. However, looking at the new one, it looks to have more stability then the 2007 version. I guess it is somewhat nice to get another Snow Speeder, though I would consider lowering the price to maybe 25$. I'm still waiting for my Tie Bomber and Cloud Car remake......

By in United Kingdom,

^I agree, I don't have it but I've heard it falls apart when you move it, and I mostly don't have it because I think it looks terrible, particularly the open fronted bridge. From the photos on FBTB this one looks so much better in every way so I'm quite excited about it.
And don't mention the TIE Bomber and Cloud Car, their absence makes yet another Snowspeeder seem even worse! ;)

A Cloud City reboot seems more and more likely to me now that we've had a Jabba's Palace reboot, and now a Mos Eisley one (though we're still missing a new and decent Sandcrawler). In fact, does this match the order they first came out in? I think it does, so I wonder if Cloud City might be the 2015 theme. Here's hoping!
Edit: I just checked, Jabba's stuff was 2003, Mos Eisley was 2004... looking hopeful... Cloud City was 2003. Doh! My theory is off. Still, next year's an ESB anniversary, it could still happen.

Any new pictures of the city, technic, and creator sets?

By in United States,

^^ @Blockland and @zipsforbananas, I own the 2007 ISD and it was a great model for it's time, though the new one is so much better in many ways. It was a little structurally flawed, and on rebuilds probably less sturdy, but it held together pretty well and survived display for a long time until I dismantled it. I'm sure the new version will be stronger for picking the model up, though.

I sure hope Cloud City gets a fresh treatment soon; it kills me that we've never gotten a re-release of Lando in his ESB costume. A cloud car as part of that or in a separate set would be great as well. Now that the 2012 TIE fighter is sold out, perhaps a TIE Bomber or Interceptor is on the horizon, though I'd prefer the Bomber first.

By in United States,

^ Or even a Tie Phantom, but I'm pretty sure Half Life 3 and Battlefront 3 will come out quicker then that.
