Star Wars Advent Calendar: Day 13

Posted by ,

The excellent rendition of Anakin's Delta-7B Jedi Starfighter which was revealed on day twelve is certainly my favourite model from this LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar so far.

Let's see whether that high standard continues on day thirteen...

Star Wars Rebels made its first appearance in 75184 Star Wars Advent Calendar last year and returns with a new vehicle in 2018! Imperial Troop Transports carry prisoners, provisions and Stormtroopers on occupied planets and this model looks fantastic. Its angular armour has been replicated effectively and I like the exposed studs on either flank, representing the area where troopers or supplies would be kept.

A trans-black 1x2 plate forms the cockpit viewport and there is a laser cannon turret on top which looks good. Unfortunately, the back of the craft is rather bland and could have been improved with a couple of tiles or slopes to match the front. Even so, I am delighted to receive another new vehicle in this calendar as there were relatively few during the first several days.

Overall - 4.5 - This miniature model compares very favourably with its source material and I appreciate the inclusion of something from Star Wars Rebels.

Ah, so that's what that was. I really need to get around to watching the tv series, because there are a bunch of things in this calendar that I don't recognize. I like their inclusion, though.

An excellent model I must say. I only realised what it was upon completion. Given the standard of the builds thus far I think I will make this a new Christmas tradition as it were. Thanks Brickset for all the reviews especially for the days I have no idea what the model is!

Yeah, cheese slopes and tiles on the last row of studs would make this feel a little more balanced and less unfinished, but it's still pretty neat.

By in Germany,

I considered this to be the train from Solo, since there is this very narrow road on the playmat which I thought is supposed to be tracks and the calendar so far has mostly included models we got a minifigure scale version of this year. Now I'm uncertain what this model is...
Maybe the next days can help me...

Didn't realize what it was until I was just about done and was happily surprised. I love the mini Cloud City, but so far this is the best mini-build of the calender!

Perhaps Lego could release a batch of this and some of the other vehicles that Kenner created to pad out their own line of toys.

I loved the Kenned toy as a kid. There was a also a rust colored, wedge shaped flying ‘thing’ which for some reason became the object of my imagination, above and beyond my X-Winc, Falcon and even B-Wong.
