Harry Potter Advent Calendar - Day 17

Posted by ,

Yesterday's addition to the Harry Potter Advent Calendar was perhaps the most interesting and fun to date, representing Horace Slughorn in his unusual armchair disguise!

Let's see whether day seventeen can reach that standard...

The curious Pensieve stores Dumbledore's many important memories and this rendition shares similarities with the Goblet of Fire and Triwizard Cup presented a few days ago. Its scale works well beside minifigures and I like the curved shape, although the onscreen artefact is shallower. Moreover, I like the trans-blue 2x2 slider on top, although a sparkly trans-light blue colour would have been better still.

Overall - While not completely accurate to the film, the Pensieve looks good here.

I need a moment to gather my thoughts about this one...

It's a bucket. A bucket with a bulge.

This is the third chalice-like build this calender XD

Still a good choice of subject matter though.

Should've included Snape's tears.

I wasn’t sure if this was the Pensieve or the Horcrux water. Either way you probably shouldn’t drink it. The part’s big enough to choke on.

Very similar to the one in Dumbledore's Office in 76402 so obviously the standard lego interpretation. Nice little model

between this, goblet of fire, and triwizard cup, the HP calendar is hovering at 1/8 cups/receptacles

Yawn. Not too imaginative. Same thing with having both the Goblet of Fire AND Triwizard Cup for GoF. Why not a scene from Voldemort’s cave or the Astronomy tower?
