Harry Potter Advent Calendar - Day 18

Day seventeen offered the base for a Christmas tree, featuring a tiny Hogwarts Express to travel around it. Presumably the actual tree will appear today, following its base.

For only the second time in many LEGO Advent Calendars, I received a duplicate item today, with a second Gryffindor lion statue instead of the intended Christmas tree. Fortunately, I had the parts to assemble the correct item and customer service is on hand for this very eventuality, but it is still not ideal, of course.
Anyway, this is our second Christmas tree in the Advent Calendar and makes day four seem a bit redundant, as this model is much better. Its shape is similar to other LEGO Christmas trees, but it looks good, especially once attached to yesterday's base. The hat displayed on top looks strange to me, but you could use the spare parts from day four to build another star.
Overall - This is an attractive tree, rather overshadowing the example from day four.

The fake cactus that I have decorated for Christmas actually has a Santa hat as a topper instead of a star. It's a cute look!
I think this Santa hat tree topper was a covert way of allowing you to make a Santa Dumbledore (slight spoiler, but he is on the front of the box...)

Or Hedwig. I'd be a fan of Christmas Hedwig.
I wonder if the hat suggests this is someone transfigured into a tree, like Slughorn’s armchair guise but more festive

He just sends needles to everyone. We all know they magically turn up anywhere and EVERYWHERE!
Good tree. The hat is a nice extra too. Nothing groundbreaking, but it's quite a nice mandatory inclusion.
